Caliper Replacement Problems
Caliper Replacement Problems
I replaced my rear passanger side caliper. I believe the install went fine however the parking break doesnt seem to be activited when I pull the hand brake in my car. I've tried tightening it (the bold in the handle) and I've tried going in reverse and yankin hard to tighten things. However It still doesnt seem to be clamping down on the passanger side. The driver side rear caliper is a bit tighter and it locks the wheel completely as it should. The foot peddle works fine, so I know the pads are working. Anyone have any thoughts where to go/look next? I've checked and it does appear the cable is pulling on the correct parts on the caliper.
I got this caliper from Autozone, and I've had it on my car for about a week now so I cant really return it. Is it possible this remanufactured caliper doesnt have a worm gear or whatever is needed for the parking brake?

Get a used part 'critical' part, but not reman?

Thats funny because it was at the recommendation of a fellow org member I replaced it with autozone's part. They said they had no problems. Anyone have suggestions?
Is their a way to tighten only the caliper on the right's cable? Seems the bolt for the e-brake handle is only tightening the left side right now.

You may need to adjust your parking brake cable further.

You should be able to adjust it @ the caliper. It simply bolts onto the caliper. Are you sure you hooked everything back up @ the caliper?? Did you bleed that side off after the install?
