Summer Tires

Looking for some opinions on a set of summer performance tires. I want to get the Toyo T1R but due to the price I might not. Also what is a good size for 18 inch wheels other then 225-40-18. I hated this set up. Any help is appreciated.

Wheel and Tire forum or http://www.tirerack.com for reviews and http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html for tire sizes.

I already know about these two sources. I just wanted to get some opinions from maxima owners in terms of choice and size. But thanks anyway.

I researched all the reviews on www.tirerack.com and ended up getting Yokahama AVID V4S tires for a fraction of the price of TOYO's. I've put on about 4k on them, drive them pretty hard, and find they're very sticky and handle great...and I had Toyo Proxes on before these.

Do a price comparison for the size you're looking for and see how much you'll save (I saved over $150 for the set).

225-40-18 on 7-7.5" wide wheels

235/245-40-18 on 8-8.5" wide wheels

Check EdgeRacing.com and OnlineTires.com for comparable prices.

Does anyone have the Yokahama Parada Spec-2 or AVS ES100? If so how do you like it?

I have decided on the BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW-2. Now, in terms of sizing is 245 too wide? Is there a ride difference between 235-40-18 or 245-40-18?

Why can't you use 235/40-18 on 18"x7.5"? Stock tires are 225 mm and the wheels are 7".
10 mm = 0.40" So, as far as I understand there shouldn't be any problems running 235mm tires with 7.5" wheels, you increase the width on the rim more than the width on the tire.
