i just received mine today and i'm trying to install it, but i had a question.
once you remove the six nuts holding the plates down, are you supposed to remove the factory black plates and replace them with the new red ones for the brace? or do you just install on top of them?
i want to replace the factory plates with the ones that come with the bar, but when i do, the brace pushes down on what looks like an intake sensor.
if i install on top of the factory plates, the six bolts are barely long enough to completely thread the nuts, which is a little disconcerting.
any thoughts/experiences?

i've tried it both ways and it looks like it'll work either way.

I took the black plates out. I think you are supposed to anyhow. As for the intake sensor, it fit, but touched the bar a little. You can take some pliers and slightly bend the bracket holding the sensor without any problems. That is what I did and there is plenty of clearance. Bolt that sucker on and take it for a ride.....you will love it
