Question regarding heated leather seats.

In the 2000 model year are all leather seats heated? I guess my question is do all of the leather seats have the heater element built into them & all you have to do is buy the switches to turn them on? I cant imagine since you can get heated seats as a dealer option that the dealer would actually have to remove the leather install the heating element then reupholster the seats. That is way to much work. I figured all they do is install the buttons and plug them in. Can anyone clear this up?

I'm not sure if it was offered as a dealer option. But, I know for a fact that Nissan offered it as its Cold Weather package in that year. I have a 2000 and mine came with that package. If it was a dealer option, I think they would offer it as a whole package like Nissan. It would be too easy if the element was already in the seats and all you had to do was buy the switches. The dealer would make more money for the complete swap.

i used to have a 2000 se w/o heated seats but they were leather. When I took my center console out it had wires by where the heated seat swicthes are, but they were connected to nothing.

The seat heater is a separate element. I had mine replaced a couple weeks ago and the dealership had an upholstery shop come in to replace it. It should run you about $120 per element per seat + $100 per switch. 2 elements per seat, so 4 elements + 2 switches + installation if you're not doing it yourself. Too much money for a little heat.

Try to find them at a junkyard. You can probably get everything for under 100 dollars there

Heatedseatkits.com

they are on ebay also and cheaper. Comes with everything you need for 1 seat per package.

Works better than stock and heats fast.
