the auto climate control and myself dont see eye-to-eye
so the auto climate control is great, 99% of the time, as we all probably agree. however, when it ISNT good, is when i dont get to remote start the car, and its ice cold when i get in it. at that point, the ACC insists on sending heat only out the floor for pretty much the entire trip. i know i can just change it to manual, but that isnt the point, its not like my feet are the only thing that is cold. and i guess i understand the general theory, heat rises, so send all the heat out the floor so it eventually fills the cabin, but in practice, its stupid, the heat should start to come out of the top vents much sooner. i dont know if this is common with all climate control, but my accord, as i remember, did the same thing!
Funny you should write this since my wife and I were having the exact conversation while driving tonight! Seems it never sends heat to the upper vents unless you "override" the system in manual mode. Dumb
Why is it dumb? Did you ever notice where the radiators or heating vents are in your house? They are low to the ground.....why, because heat rises as you have already mentioned. Why would you want to send heat to your roof when you can "fill" your cabin with heat?

well like most of you said it understood why the vents are auto set to the floor but if its set automatically to the top vents faster heat circulation and also you feel the heat in your face once you get in cause more than likely your shoes are not gonna le it through
