How To Remove Those Ugly Lines?

Hi, I just bought my 01 Max, it comes with gold lines running across both sides of the car, is it possible to remove it WITHOUT damaging the paint/clear coat? It looks REALLY fugly. Any help will be appreciated.

Just peel it off. Use goo gone to remove excess glue left on.

Use a hair dryer to heat up the pinstripe glue & remove. Use a product like GooGone to remove any remaining glue when pulled off.

Heat it up with a blow dryer then use googone or 3M wax remover to clean up the residue.

you can get a rubber wheel specially made for removing pin stripes. it goes on a drill or buffer and takes them right off.

i would say use the rubber the wheel, that is what we use at my body shop, then we use the 3m cleaner to take off the glue, then wax that *****

I peeled it off by hand, that took longer than you think it would, then used scratch-x to get all the excess gunk off, then waxed it and it looks great

1. Use hair dryer on medium to low heat to soften adhesive. Too high of heat can actually bubble the paint.
2. Carefully peel back sticker
3. Remove left over adhesive with WD-40

From Housecor's site:

I like my pinstripe. adds a little contrast to the car. Either way, I cant take mine off anyway. My pinstripe is painted on, not the sticker kind. I guess the factory didn't go cheap on mine by using a tape.

Pinstripes on the Max are hideous IMO. I lifted the corner off with my fingernail and then pulled the rest off. There was a lot of residue left but there was a faint line with the pinstripe was before. I used a all-in-one paint cleaner where the pinstripe was.

I used this same method for removing the dealer sticker on the back of the car.

Pinstripping looks sooo old fashion. It was done in the 60s to 80s. Take it off.

I don't believe that those stripes are painted on at the factory. The dealer sends them out or has someone install them after they get the cars in . Then they try to charge youa bunch of money for them. I took mine off the day I got my car back in 2002. Back in the day they used to paint pinstripes on American cars.
