all times are speedo indicated, which are prone to being inaccurate (on the high side) at higher speeds
1984 Pontiac 6000 V6 (~ 95mph): Well, the speedometer only went up to 85mph and it seemed to be about 10mph past that and was buried. I think it might have gone faster, but the problem is that once you got up to that speed there would be so much load on the tranny that it'd downshift and redline, but then it'd realize it's redlining so upshift again, but then there was too much load so it'd downshift and redline, repeat repeat repeat! So basically the whole car would start to come apart at around 95mph and you'd have to backoff
1990 Toyota Camry I4 5spd (110mph):...but I think I had some assistance from a downhill though, and the speedometer was waaaay fast at those speeds so probably only 100-105mph or so.
2001 Honda Accord V6 (120mph): This was on I-70 between Frederick and Baltimore. I saw a 3-series whiz by me like I was stopped and I was already going 80mph, so he was clearing out any cops for me so what the hell and I buried it. There were some turns, little hills, and bumps though and it wasn't exactly stable so I hit 120 before I backed off.
...oh yeah, one more
1998 Toyota Camry I4/auto (100mph): This is my dad's car which I was borrowing before I bought my Accord. It has a muscle-bound 135HP and a slushbox and pulls a lot of weight, so you know that this puppy was SCREAMING. I was running it flat out for a couple of miles on I-80 in PA between the Poconos and Penn State U trying to keep up with a Ford Probe V6 that was clearing out the cops for me, and god damn that thing is WEAK!!! On flat ground with my foot on the floor it could just manage around 95mph, and if we were going downhill it would just barely touch 100mph BUT NO MORE!!!! That puppy isn't limited...it doesn't fricken need one!
ughh...I don't think I'll ever be able to go back to 4-cylinders now that I have a V6.

In Spain in the early 70s ( I was in the Navy). On the Autostrada (Spains autovonn) in a ~1970 TVR Vixen, fiberglass body and Triumph straight 6 engine we were maxed out at 135 mph and a front wheel bearing failed. Very noisy to and we had to limp back to the base. I was impressed as the water and oil didn't overheat - in a British car no less!!
Also about 115 mph in a 1970 Ferrari 365 2+2 (V-12, 320 hp)on I-405 outside of Monterey.
Only about 100 mph in an 81 Ferari 308, 2 valves and only 210 hp - very gutless cars, but sounded great at 6,500 rpm.

Fastest
My two fastest speed was 166 Mph... Honest..
I was going 165 in my 390HP 1993 RX7 R2 on a wide open patch of Interstate.. (Top possible speed of car was in the 190's mph range.) That car totally hauled *** and was so fun to drive! But I blew the engine one day (As do all people with souped up RX7's)
After spending $5500 to replace the engine I traded it in for a Infiniti QX4 (Talk about extremes)

I said two in a previous quote... The other was 150 MPH back in 1992 in my roommates souped up Mustang GT while I was eluding the police.... Sigh.... I did pull over and got reckless driving and attempting to elude (reduced to just reckless)...(yeah yeah...stupid I know) I don't drive like that anymore.. I don't think ive had my SE over 95MPH since Ive had it.

I've gone
155 MPH in a 2000 C5. Was on RT-66 heading towards Front Royal VA. I could have gone faster, but fear of the
slowed me down. Love that car! I think I'm going to have a C5 for my weekend cruiser, and a Max for the daily driver.

'93 Ford Probe GT 5-speed ~130mph

Still had a little left, but the ECU cut the fuel. It's pretty scary at that speed when all of a sudden the dash lights up like a christmas tree!
'01 Max 5-speed < 100mph
------------------------------
Still babying it, since only 6000 miles and I don't trust the $hitty Potenza tires.

135 in my max on 85 southbound as soon as I crossed into NC before I came upon some traffic. Scared me ****less, I have to admit.
156 in mom's '99 M3 on a lonely Nevada highway. Smooth as silk, and still had some go left in it. Damn, that's an awesome car, and I get to drive it when I go back to AZ for the next 3 weeks!

Hit 125 in my test drive of the Max (didn't buy that car, hehe). Salesman was loving it and wanting me to go faster. I love having young new salesmen as ride alongs. They don't care what you do to the car, as long as you buy one!
Hit 120 in a 1994 Toyota Celica. Smooth ride and easy to control at that speed.
Hit 148 in a 1998 supped up Z28 used by the State Police. Son of a **tch would run like a scalded dog and didn't want to stop. That was way too fast for me though. One false move and your a wet spot on the road.

Scared of the Police?? Not much difference in going 155 and 185, either way your are caught, beat, and thrown in jail.

135mph while racing a 'Vette uphill on westbound I-90 from Issaquah to Eastgate where the Washington State Patrol hangout. I won.
Geez, I just realized that the fastest I've ever gone in a car is like 100 to 110. The one time that sticks out in my head was when one of my high school buddies and I took out his mothers 86 911 carrera. My friend did between 100 and 110 on a back woods bumpy and twisty road. The car took it great though, it wasn't too dramatic. As a matter of fact, some construction was going on and we flew over a 4 ft chunk of dirt where a culvert was being replaced and I didn't even feel it go by.
I'm almost ashamed to say this but I don't think I've hit 85 in my 2k GXE. I guess I'm just too paranoid of the poopies or is it po-pos.

92 Maxima SE (mine) - 142 mph for about 20 seconds then had to slow down..
1971 Vette Stingray - 150+ for about 10 seconds.. It was a buddy of mines who snuck it out and his dad would have kicked his *** if we would have wrecked..
