Removing rear sidemarker light
Honestly, it shouldn't be that hard. I am able to take my rear side markers off without wrapping a towel or anything around it. Just go very slowly and be careful. Wedge the screwdriver with a paper towel on the bottom area of the wider side of the sidemarker, the part that is toward the center of the car. You are literally going to wedge the lens out. Not all the complicated.
If you want to change them out without risking any damange, you can always follow housecor's write-up which explains how to remove them from under the car without using a screwdriver.
(Link fail, Manny.) michael454rs, just go to eBay and search on "Maxima Side Marker". You can figure it out from there on.
And for the record, removing the rears is *not* an easy thing the first time you do it. Or the second and third time, for that matter. But it does get easier. The fronts simply pop out by unclipping them from the inside and underneath.

In the owners manual section 8 page 29 it describes how to remove the rear side marker .. using a flat screw driver and bit of towelling to protect from scratching or breaking the paint, the rear marker has a plastic clip that is a little harder to get released than the front marker that has a metal clip. You go in at the front of the marker and apply pressure towards the rear of the car, the front part of the marker should pop out for bulb replacement. (see the .pdf file picture)

Bumping an old thread for an on-topic continuation of the discussion, that's fine.
Quoting a 5-year-old comment as if the discussion is active, that's dumb.

(Teasing the Mod, LOL)I used a thick piece of plastic that I tapered the edges on as a tool to pop out the rear marker lenses. The sheet metal behind the bumper skin looks like an old oil tanker.
Rusty and misshapen. It's very humbling.
sorry to bump AGAIN lol adn old thread but im looking for the small clips yello clips that is attached to side markers anyone know where i can purchase this clip. tried google, ebay, couple a site where they clips and retainers with no luck.
I found the best way to achieve awesomeness with this is a butter knife with a piece of eyeglass cloth ( like the really soft microfiber cloths that come with glasses or sun glasses) and wedge that sucka in there, no pint damage and it took like 3.2 seconds
(since were in the spirit of bumping)

Now the better question is......
Is this the same for the I30 boys?
EDIT: Never mind. I did it myself out of boredom. Seems a lot more easier than what all of you made it out to be.

easy thing to do. just apply gentle pressure till it pops off. I bought a trim removal tool set at Harbor Freight for $6.0, came with like 5 different rubberized plastic tools in different shapes. it works great on all types of projects.
rear side marker clip
Hi, Did you find out where to buy just the little yellow clip? I need one
You should check out your local U-Pull It style salvage yard. You walk through the yard and pull whatever parts you want. You can take anything from a full motor to a small clip, plug or fastener. You can find a lot of parts that aren't available or are only available with a larger part.

you can always try reading your owner's manual

for OEM replacements, or do they HAVE to be Nissan?
man, that GBAUER message made me think, this kid just bumped a 5 year old thread,
