I have a 2001 Maxima 20th Anniv. the car has only 2500 miles on it and the it hasn't been driven stupidly. I have a problem when shifting into 5th gear. If I pause for a second between 4th and 5th it shifts fine; however, if I shift it quickly into 5th I can feel a grind in the shift *** even if the clutch is kept all the way to the floor untill after it's in gear..Any idea why I'm feeling this or what the problem is...Thanks

Um, you might want to have that checked... It sounds as if something isn't lining up right or perhaps something with the system that won't let you go into reverse by mistake? I am however guessing -- I really don't know. I would get it checked out if you are worried about something.

With mine, no problems with speed shifting.

But you surely need to get that checked, problems that may contribute:
1. You're shifting so fast that you don't let the gears synchronize before engaging 5th gear.
2. Problems with the gear synchronization

Hopefully it's nothing major that will result in a release of a TSB. Keep us posted
