Double Din for 5th gen??

Is there a radio dash kit for the 5th gen so you can install a double-din head unit? Also, is there a way to keep steering wheel controls?

ok....thanx. Now i need to know if there is a double-din dash kit and where to purchase and how much. I'm installing a Kenwood double-din unit for a friend. Or do i have to purchase a single din face-kit and dremel out to make the unit fit?

I bought a Scosche install kit, NN1494, to do the same thing. I can't say that it works since I haven't installed it yet. It's made for either 1DIN or 2DIN. You have the remove the center bar for the 2DIN according to directions.

Search ebay for NN1494B to see what it looks like

You can buy the GXE dash kit for double dins, it seems to work just fine. To make the steering wheel controls work you have to use a PACSWIX or something similar I believe. If you want just the trip button to work all you have to do is ground a wire. This has been discussed several times, all you have to do is search

Also check this thread for what Igor did.

growning that wire will only make the trip control work. In order to use the volume and stuff you need to pacswix

This reply doesn't make any sense.

If you want all the steering wheel buttons to work, you'll have to buy a Pac Adaptor SWI-X. It includes everything you need in order to keep your Trip, Function, & volume up/down buttons to work with your new deck. I bought mine a long time ago from the owner of Berk Intakes. You can search for his site and he may still sell them.

As for double din dash pieces, you can buy the Scosche ones that are very affordable but don't match at all, or you can opt for the oem GXE trim piece that you can buy at any dealer. My website has pics of the GXE piece if you want to check it out.

This topic has been discussed into the ground. As the steering wheel controls question has been covered, here is a thread with pics of the GXE kit.

Also, you could have check the FAQ's and found the answers to both questions as well.
