SES question

SES question

Okay, so this weekend i changed my air filter and like a dumbass forgot to plug the o2 sensor back in... i start driving and notice the ses light is on, i pull over, plug the sensor back in and it hasnt gone away....

any possible ideas? did i some how do damage?

Probably not. When you disconnected it, you just triggered the ECU for the fault. You just need to reset the ECU and it should go away. Maybe, after a few drive cycles, it may go away on its own as well.

why would you disconnect an o2 sensor?? do you mean the mass air flow sensor?? eitherway you just drive your car and after about 5 drive cycles it should be fine, don't get scared if it doesn't go away for a day or 2.

i have an injen intake
so i had to disconnect the sensor to remove the pipe to get to the air filter, can the ECU be reset by me, or does someone else need to do that?

Since you have a '01, you can disconnect your battery for about a half hour or so, and the light should go away. Or, find someone with a OBII scan tool to clear the code. This is the best way, since the car won't take as long in "re-learning" mode.
