surging and bogging during acceleration...

I recently installed new coils and a MAF sensor, the car surges and feels bogged down during hard acceleration....I am also suspecting too good of a MPG, am getting in the 27MPG range. possible fuels system problem?

Were the coils stock or aftermarket? Does the cars computer need to be reset for the new MAF to work correctly (seems like MAF's on these cars are sensitive).

Cheers for the new found gas mileage though!

Why did you replace the coils and MAF in the first place? Did you connect everything back properly on the intake (vacuum hoses)? When exactly does the surge/hesitation occur?

I had also replaced my coils but having the same issue. Car seems to have less power but the gas mileage has gone up. Kiosk if you find a fix for this problem let me know as well. I have a 2000 GLE

My car had been running really weak till this morning. I started the car and it shuts off. Start it again and it started stalling, had to keep giving it gas for it to warm up a bit, once its warm it doenst stall much. Also SES light came on; i will be stopping by autozone to get the code, last time I got the code it was P0420.
Another thing I noticed this morning after driving 2~3 miles at the light in D the car started to stall again, as soon as I shifted the gear to N it was fine.
Any ideas?

sorry I didnt get to visit the forum for a couple days...my ISP was down.
I replaced the MAF about 6 months ago because of performance loss after 3k RPM, replacing the MAF took care of that, the coils I changed about 4 months ago because of stupid codes (replaced with stock coils) was fine for a while...
I have reset EUC yes, i connected back everything, all looks good.
sometimes when it bogs really bad it pings badly too....my guess with the fact that it could be running lean...but I didnt think you could adjust fuel mixture on these cars anyways

how many miles on the car and is it auto or manual? if you think you are running lean then i would suggest either pulling the plugs and checking their condition or forking up 45-60 bucks for 3 pulls on the dyno. that way you can an idea of your a/f and look at your power band for possible issues. also when you replaced the coils, were the plugs changed and if so what brand replaced the originals?

got 110k miles on it and is manual. I did pull the plugs when change the coils and they looked like new so I didnt replace, but I did notice they are one step colder than stock plugs (not sure why, maybe previous owner).

how about the in-tank fuel filter? I know nissan says it doesnt need to be changed but with all the miles I got I have heard people change them and are quiet dirty....

maybe past owner was running nitrous or just got the wrong plugs. i certainly would run the correct heat range if you are sticking NA. colder plugs can take power away. you should not be getting good fuel mileage if the filter is clogged. mine was fairly caked up at 50k miles just for reference and i always use name brand 93 octane. were the plugs NGK?
