problem after tranny fluid switch

hey guys i just switched out my old tranny fluid in my 5 speed. i put in redline mt-90. the shifter feels really mushy in 3 and 4rth gear. the others feel fine. is this normal. i don't remeber it happening before when i did it about a year ago, the tranny has been rebuilt by the dealer since and they put in some crap tranny fluid. after only 10000 miles it was almost black. well i hope someone has an answer for me. thanks

I was kind of curious, because I just installed a new clutch in my 00 max a few days ago, and I cannot get the hydraulic clutch system bled properly! Also the gear case housing is leaking tranny fluid fluid, What should I do?

sounds like you need a new clutch line. over time they get tiny pinholes and air gets in the system and fluid finds its way out. that may be where your fluid is leaking from and not the housing

I know it is no help to you - but may be to others who read this post, you didn't need to bleed it. The clutch can be changed by just moving the piston that actuates the clutch - then move it back when you get done. That's how I did mine.

As for the original question, MT 90 will make the shifts feel smoother but shouldn't make them feel "mushy." Did you do anything to shifter mechanism when you changed the fluid?

?? maybe mine feels a little mushy after i changed it last week. i used some pennzoil product. forget which one but it wasnt synthetic. feels a little mushy, but smoother to me. but when i asked someone to order it for me, they didnt order enough so i had to use some other hydraulic gear oil as well cuz the shop was closed. feels like my 1st gear synchro is going wack, but not that i use it that much. think im gonna drain it and fill it up again.
