AMBER TO RED CHROME TAIL CONVERSION PROBLEM: Immediate Help Needed!!!!! (Pics**)

well we just were doing what i read in one of the past threads about doing this conversion (amber to red for the 02/03 headlights) and a little too much was sprayed in i guess because it leaked through the bottom of the circle to the inner part of the tail light as seen in the pictures. we sprayed through the turning bulb hole, as the how to said to.

is there anything i can do before it drys? is there any way to seperate the tail light whatsoever? i know i can get it off with alcohol if i can only seperate this damn thing. any suggestions or has anyone had this problem before? ANY help would be appreciated!

as far as i am aware of, there is no way to sepearte the tail. Dr. Roy had to dremel it to get it open.

That tail is ruined, scrap it. Talk to skier, he'll tell you. You need to go really light and use multiple coats to get this done correctly.

what paint did you use? I bought some testors candy apple red tranparent paint that I was planning on using to do this mod and one thing that I heard was to let them dry face up to avoid that from happening. I really want some solid red led tails.

well nevermind, looks like we dont have to buy a new tail light after all. we found out how to fix it and it looks brand new again, just gotta start from scratch with the amber to red conversion again is all.. going to be patient and more careful this time.

maxspeed yea that paint you listed is the stuff i used since VANS is out of business with their tail light paint. i bought it at a hobby shop usa store downtown for 4 bucks..

Yup, your screwed. Only thing useful to do is try and tint the tailight to hide the red.

alright..i'm lazy, and somewhat not in the mood to go searching for a thread, and this is as relevant as i can get without posting a new thread. i have an 00 GXE, and love the style of the 00 GLE headlight and taillight assemblies. do any of you know where i can get replacement assemblies for a reasonable price and whether they'll fit in my 00 GXE? i've been searching online for a couple hours, and cant seem to find a retailer (trying to avoid ebay) who sells stock GLE assemblies. thx
