I have an appt with the dealer to fix my 2k2 auto tranny because its shifting hard and acting a little weird. i got 49,000 miles. what should i look for after they do it (is it a serious service or something simple) i just want it done right so that i dont have more probs after warranty is over.

 

i fyour tranny is acting a little weird that means its probably at it's first phase of slippage. just do what i do check your tranny fluid level and make sure it doesn't smell burnt. if nissan says it shifts perfectly fine for them tell them to let it get completely cold and accelerate in 1st gear, if you want you can even drive the car yourself to show the tech what you mean. im on my third auto tranny and im at 70k tomorrow i will be taking it to the dealer for my tranny once again. hopefully they say ok again on another tranny.

 

K2MAX, thanks for the info. My tranny acts up when it is cold or warm (1st to 2nd hard shift, 2nd to 3rd rpms go up a little than a rough shift, sometimes is in 2nd when i come to a stop, than jerks into 1st when i hit the gas) and do you have an extended warranty? how are they covering it at 70K? Thanks

 

yup i definitely have an extended warranty til' 75K. it went in today and my service advisor said they would test drive it tomorrow morning to see if the tranny starts off in 3rd gear like i told them. funny thing when i took my car in it wouldn't start for the idiot service writer that i don't like, they had to push my car. lets ee what they say tomorrow. my car is sitting on the rack right now completely stock except for the wheels, brakes and suspension. damn i forgot to tell them my axle are leaking grease

 

well i brought it in today..turns out i had the camshaft pos. sensor recall they took care of (whatever that is) and they said the tranny fluid looked dirty and smelled burnt. i told them i got it drain and flushed not even 10K ago, i went to that dealership and i have an appt on monday for a test drive with them..and theyre gonna fix it and ima have them change it again and im not payin for it.
