Sounds like hes BSing you. My dealer wouldnt advance my timing either. The consult II is the only device that will change your timing, I believe.

What a foreman, he doesn't know much... He should meet the firing squad.

Print this out and take it to him, and then try and get it done for free...It's for a 2k1 though.

I 've had it done on two maximas, a 2000 and 2003. Hook up the consult II three minutes later it's done. First time was free since the dealership didn't even think they could do it. The last time, they decide to charge me for a .5 shop time, like $32.00. No big deal.

i need more info on this timing thing....
i reall want to get it done....but i am scared of the future consequences...can someone that knows whats going on when you change your timing from 15* to 17*, whats going on with you engine, whats the differences....is ECU going to be able to recognize it....any positive things will be helpful and any negative things will be helpful too...I talked to my dad bout' it, but he thinks that its not good to do it... blah blah blah...lol...
so i need something to back up my opinion...thats how I got him to let me put the most expencive gas in....I know that you'll be all like "but thats ur car u should be able to do anything to it" ...."true lol" but my parents did by me a car, iam only 17...just turned 17...and my dad dosent want me to mess up something...all tho i've done whole bunch of things on my car...they' really dont care as much...
but this timing thing...i 'really want to get it done..
but i need to know if its good or bad?
thank you
