Well, I just ordered a y-pipe. I got it from Greg at custommaxima.com. It was the last one. It was a pretty good deal. Can't wait to get it

I was thinking of doing the exhaust manifold conversion the desert pearl did, but decided against it since there was not a huge difference in the results he obtained. Thanks for all the work desert pearl.....

Hmmm...I wonder if that's his sales pitch?

Are you taking yours to Mike to get it installed? Let me know how much everything costs when you're done. No particular reason of course...

How much are those UDP generally? What is the install time on them usually? Will my AC/climate control be affected at all? What is the HP gain? Any other info would be cool!

I'm not sure. I'd rather have it installed by someone who's worked on Maximas before. I may drive down to Alt Z in Huntington Beach instead. I think that's where Stillen sends all the local guys to have their Y-pipes installed. Alt Z charges $75.00 for the install . . . a bit pricey, but worth it if they do it right. (I don't need no stinking Check Engine Lights! )

Alt Z is located at 17082 Palmdale St # B, Huntington Beach, CA 92647, (714) 375-5651.

My UDP was about $210 with shipping and new belts.

Install time is about two hours if you know all of the tricks and have the right parts & tools.

AC/climate control doesn't suffer at all. Mine is just as $hitty as it was before. AC in our cars sucks in general. Of course I live in a friggin' desert!

HP gain is probably around 8hp at the crank. It is noticable while driving, but not a big improvement. It made a more noticable improvement in throttle response. Just revving it while in neutral, it came up to redline much quicker. I also had to shift earlier or I'd hit the rev limit. Instead of shifing my auto at 6000rpm, I have to shift at 5800-5900rpm. Too bad there's not an OSUDP, huh???

Awesome..

Hey dude, we should meet up some time. I wanna check out your Max. Once you get that Y-Pipe on her, we should drag race and see what the difference is. I'm sure there are lots of places around our areas to do some nice testing

Desert Pearl answered most of your questions. At Maxima Day, an AE with intake and y pipe put down 171. I had the muffler, UDP, and RT cat over him and put down 181.
