Make sure you change out the fluid to Mobil1 or Amsoil ATF....heard those shift smooth as butter...and helps protect the tranny much better!

PM talkinghorse for amosil deals!

i used that writeup back in the day to install my hayden cooler and a b&m one on blu's old 02. i am certain that almost everything was the same mainly because i do not remember any surprises. when you do change the trans oil, i would recommened dropping the pan. clean up the pan, magnets and check the the screen/filter for any tears and clean it up as well.

I didn't read that whole write-up, but yea it's probably the same. Pretty easy to do.
Go to autozone spend $30-50 on a universal cooler and another 5-10 on some high pressure lines (just to be safe) and nice clamps. The cooler will come with strip ties. Put the cooler on the front side of your radiator, put strip ties thru the fins of the cooler and radiator on all 4 corners of the cooler. Tighten strip ties down. Your cooler is now in place.. Cut your tranny line going to your radiator. Run one of the hoses from the cooler into the radiator side of the line you cut. Run the other hose into the trans side of the line you cut and you done. 45 minutes and $60 tops and your good to go.

It should be the exact same. i didnt get any Suprises Either.... But I would Look into getting the B&M because the Fins on the Hayden are Very Flimsy and easy to bend. Good Luck.

The B&M.........

The B&M is what I installed. I also use Mobil 1 Syn ATF. I liked the B&M over the Hayden because it has cold fluid/low pressure bypass built in. Have had no issues for over a year.

a properly installed tranny cooler will only extend the life of the transmission by helping keep temps down. of course some dealers will do anything to escape from liability but this would be a difficult arguement. the reason being is the radiator already acts as a tranny cooler but that is obviously not its main function. having one in front of the ac condenser is the prime spot for obvious reasons.
