Low or normal HP results?

Ok... so my buddy and I bought a beltronics FX-1 performance meter... and we were testing it out on my car tonight. I have a 2000 max, and the only mods are a flowmaster muffler, and a stillen intake. I know that nissan says this car is 222hp... but that is at the flywheel. From what the FX1 told us... which is a very accurate device from reviews that I have read... I had peak hp at 145... and my best 1/4 time was 15.77. I thought that the wheel hp being 145 sounded really low... but I'm not sure. I havn't gotten around to checking my VIAS... could that be my problem. Is there anything else I need to check into? Thanks!

I would say that you should buy some dyno time, but thats your call. Although the car loses some power over time, I don't think it should lose from 222hp to 145hp..........But thats just my thoughts.

I don't think that the HP rating should be that much of a differance between an automatic and a manual, but the 1/4 Mile times will be longer on the automatic.

there is quite a difference in the drivetrain loss as measured in a percentage. the manual equipped cars are also lighter due the transmission itself compared to an auto. if your vias broke loose in the low end setting then i could see a 3.0 auto with those two mods only putting around 150 to the wheels. i personally would not trust that dohicky and i would have 3 pulls on a dyno to see for yourself. you can see where peak power is, which should be redline if your vias is working and also your a/f.

THe FX is gives a very accurate measure of acceleration but for HP readings there are too many variables. I wouldn't put too much stock in that number. The 1/4 time seems right for a mostly stock 5th gen auto.
