power diminishes as car warms up... any ideas?
My first thoughts are tranny (hopefully not!) or MAF
When the car has been driven say less than 5 minutes, everything is fairly normal. After shifting into 2nd and I give it some gas, the car is torquey, as always.
After 5 minutes, say 10+, when I get into 2nd and give it gas, the engine seems to make more noise than normal (as if it resonates?) and there feels to be significantly less power making it to the wheels.
My car is an auto w/~70k miles. Sound like a MAF on its way out or a tranny problem? Or something else that I haven't thought of? Thanks

Sounds like your MAF is going. Ugh, and you have a 3.5, thats going to cost ya. I think you can use the VQ30DE MAF with a VQ35 with the temperature sensor diode mod. To my knowledge the only thing different about the 2k2-2k3 MAFs is the temp sensor.

Yeah, I had a MAF go ~25k miles too, and I've had this same power loss before, but I can't remember if the MAF went before or after that power loss experience... well, if it goes, it'll give me a good reason to be late to work one of these days
