Rear blinker bulb question

Hooray it's finally letting me post my own threads! BOUT TIME! My question is this. The rear blinker bulbs in my max are py/21w. 1156's do not fit in. Is there another name for a py/21w bulb? I wanna get the silverstar turn signals for both the front and the rears, and was wondering if there was a bulb that would work in the rears. tia...

they do not fit in my car, i've tried. py/21w is what they take. Any other names for that? On the above chart it says that a 7507 bulb fits. Is that the exact same thing as an 1156, or could that be the bulb i need?

I got some LED's from Autozone once and they did not fit either. So there ARE some items that are listed for our cars that don't actually fit.

You need the 7507's. The contact points on the base of the bulbs are offset for the 7507's, whereas they are on opposite poles in the 1156's and therefore, won't twist into the sockets.

LOL - all I will promise is that the 7507's worked on my 2k. I ordered the chromes from autolumination.com and originally got the 1156's...had to send them back for the 7507's.

Check the bulb that's in there now, the locking point/contact things should be offset like in the picture here:

If in doubt, you might want to pick up a cheapie at Autozone and try it before ordering silverstars.
