Brakes soft after new rotors/pads...now what?

I changed my front rotors and pads (Akenobo ceramics with Brembo blanks) and now the pedal doesnt feel firm, but soft...stops good thou.
I didnt bleed them because I didnt open up any of the lines, do I still need to? the car has 120k miles and the fluid does look dark....

Do you know if your brakes have been bled at all? If you are at 120K and its the same fluid as when the car was new then you should bleed all your brakes to exchange the fluid. It is recommended this is done every 2 years.

Well..it appears I can't start a thread, so I'm replying to this one in hopes someone can help. I had to change a wheel stud today and after taking off the caliper, it wouldn't go back on without pushing the brake piston back. I took off the pads and the springs came out. Problem is I've never replaced a brake pad and have no idea how those springs go back in....

anyone who can help, it would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

Having to push the "piston" back is normal. As far as the springs, take of the other side and see how it goes! You have to reply 15 times to be able to post new threads. They are vicious in here, so stop bleeding!

Sorry, I need my car tomorrow, and I was worried I wouldn't get the thing together tonight. My apologies to the original poster of this thread.

It's worth trying to beed them. Start with the rear right, then rear left, then front right, and then the front left. You want to start furthest away from the master cylinder. Might as well flush all the old fluid out as well.

Good Luck
