How much am I looking at?

Well, I'm going to be buying my Maxima soon and I'm looking at 5th Gens, below I've listed what I'd like stock with it...maybe someone can give me some incite on how much I might be paying...

- Titanium Edition?
- Grey/Black Paint
- Leather Interior
- 3.5?
- 5spd

That's bone stock, I might be interested in something minorly modded.

Titanium Edition is fully loaded. I paid 19,000 for it in 12/04 with 25,000 miles. The only year that has the TE model is 2003. Take what I paid as an example and figure in miles and how old it is because I think I got a good deal. Plus mine is an auto. Manuals are cheaper.

Good luck finding one... especially with all those options. It took me 3 months and I found it only by accident.

No, I didn't know about that site until you just told me. Thanks, I'll have to check it out. I paid 15k for mine about 4 months ago w/50,000 miles and it was in showroom condition. Be patient... they're out there.

6 Speed cars aren't cheaper! Take it from someone who just bought one. I had to fly 650 miles and pick it up too! I bought an 02 so its not a TE, but I got the 6 speed and it had 45,092 miles on it when I drove it away. I think its close to fully loaded, the original window sticker was over 29,000, its got leather, memory seats, blose and I'm loving it so far. I paid 14,7 from a nissan dealer. Mechanically and on the inside the car is in immaculate shape. The paint has a few scratches, but for a 4 year old car its better than the majority of other maxima's I looked at. I'm under the impression these cars have fairly soft paint.

If you pay anywhere near $20K for an 03 Maxima, you are an idiot.

The most expensive 03 maxima I saw during my looking was priced at 21,998 and had 17,000 miles on it. I would guess that someone could have gotten that for 19k or so? I think you're right, an 03 in good shape with 40 to 50k on it should bring 15, to 17,5 depending on options.

From my experience manuals in general are 1000 or 2000 cheaper when purchased new. Maybe I am mistaken with maximas. nismomaxx - Do some research and find out.

I think it was a no cost option. Before I bought my car I was going through all my old magazines and MT said it was a no cost option. The fact remains, however, that the Maxima in 6 speed form is moderately rare, which results in dealers less apt to come down on the price. At least thats what I've found. I negotiated my *** off from 650 miles away and only got them to discount the car 2300 off their internet sale price and 3800 off their original price.

You cannot necessarily say that. I t all depends on options, miles, and condition of the vehicle, especially if you purchase retail.

I agree with you in terms of the manual maximas and them being rare, therefore making hard to negotiate for at times.

Yeah it was a *****, I found two here in oklahoma, one had a salvage title and was for sale from an individual, the other had a "lemon" title from california for some kind of steering problem it was for sale at a dealer. They're only asking 15,7 for it which means you could probably get it for 13k or so. The dealer is a good reputable dealer but I wasn't about to touch a lemon car...

I found another maxima in st louis, and another in kansas city, and two in dallas all with 6 speeds. In all cases dealers either outright refused to negotiate or would only negotiate to the tune of a thousand bucks or so and in all cases the cars wound up being sold within a few weeks time. I found my car in Austin, it was the end of the month and so I jumped all over it. The salesman didn't really wanna negotiate with me, I had to call and ***** at him several times. Finally I got the salesman down from 16,987 to 15,4 that wasn't good enough after two hours of trying to get another offer out of him, I was like **** it, so I called and talked to the sales manager, told him I'd do 14,7 and thats it not a penny more. He called me back and said if I could get it by the end of the month (this was last weds) that he'd do 14,7. So I jumped...I feel like I got a slightly better than average deal but I didn't steal it or anything. But based on my experience a 6 speed car is HARD to negotiate on.

From what I have heard, only 6%-10% of maximas were 6speed so finding one isn't that easy. When I brougth my 02 auto back in june of 02, the dealer had over 40 new maximas on the lot but only 3 where 6 speeds. If you search the used car classifieds there will be tons of used autos but maybe only 2 6 speeds. Be patient

I can, and I did say that. I will repeat it...If you pay anywhere near $20K for a used 2003 Maxima, you are an idiot.

Edit: I paid $24,000 out the door for a leftover 03 TE Auto with 11 miles on it back in July of 03. You're gonna tell me $20K is reasonable in March of 06?

6 speed maximas are hard to come by in ct, ive been looking for a couple months now and have only come across handful in my price range. if your looking for something with specific options, your gonna have to wait for it to come around. if your willing to bend, you could find a decent one for 16-18k with miles below 60k. if your willing to go out of state for the car youll find it faster obviously.

I'll go out of state, as long as it's pretty close like NY, RI, MA, PA, NH, VA.

I paid 17,500 for my 03 Polished Titanium 6speed HLSD with EVERYTHING just like boondoxmax's ride in OCt. just under 15K miles. It took an extremely long time to find it. BONUSES were it came with Stillen Front/rear lips, tint, paradox rear window spoiler, ventshade rain guards.
