Hey guys my strut tower brace came today but the box was new with the original box beat to crap by UPS. I have NO clue how it could have gotten beat up that bad. But anyways the brace is here but the result now is no directions no nothing. I assume 30ish lb/ft of torque on the 3 nuts for each strut?

Should I do it with the car on the ground or with the car jacked up or does it matter? There seems to be some conflicting results. Any tips or anything I should check for since the box was basically shredded? The bar is mildly scuffed almost looks like it was put on a car and immediately taken back off. Could just be damage from UPS though. Anyways, anything I need to know?

most autoparts stores lke autozone or advanced autoparts, etc will rent them for free. you just have to put down a desposit in case you nver come back with the tool. most stores will rent tonns of tools for diy car stuff. spring compressors, tq wrenches, brake stuff....
make sure if you rent one to get a 1/2 to 3/8 converter. most torque wrences use 1/2 drive size for sockets.

What kinda brace did you buy? Ebay? I bought mine on ebay and my box was beat up too with no instruction. I don't think they come with any because its pretty simple....just bolt it on with the correct lb/ft using a torque wrench of course.

Any ideas where? I went to Sears and they were running at least for around 60 and above. Maybe I'm lost...

I got mine at Autozone for $19.99 + tax. Not the best torque wrench out there but I use it often especially when I torque wheel lugs.

If you're going to buy a torgue wrench make sure it's a "clicker type" not one with a seperate arm that points to the setting as you pull on it. 2cents

BTW They don't come with instructions

It's an OTTO bar and yes I got it on ebay from "procarparts" or something similar.

I got the same bar from the same seller. I didn't get instructions either. I would just try to find someone who has it or an auto shop close by that could just screw the bolts on for you. It doesn't take a long time.

I got one of those too. It did the job pretty nicely.

It lasted about a month... Untill I tried to use it as a breaker bar. lol
