for pics you could go to yahoo and type in "Nissan maxima (insert color here)" wether it be either of the 3, as far as im aware, Sheer silver is a bright silver, sterling mist a lil shade darker, at night can be confused for sunlit sand (what i have) and Grey lustre is a dark grey, kinda gunmetalish.

There were three silvers in 03 and only Sterling Mist in 02. I'll see if I can find the Dealer book on the 03 max and post a picture of it. I almost bought a new one back then but ended up buying a 2000 Sterling Mist instead.

Sterling Mist - More Greyish

Sheer Silver - Bright Silver

Polished Titanium - Darker

Here's a Gray Lustre

Sterling Mist - More Greyish

Sheer Silver - Bright Silver

Polished Titanium - Darker

Here's a Gray Lustre

Sterling Mist has a purplish hue to it and is pretty light
SHeer Silver is a shiny light silver
Polished titanium is a darker shiny silver
Grey Lustre...hehe it's just a dark grey.

hope that helps a little bit.

POLISHED TITANIUM IS THE BEST COLOR FOR SURE! then again i'm a little biased.

I my opinion the Sterling mist and Greey Lustre were very popular colors since the 2000 model. The Sheer Silver came out in 03 along with the Polished Titanium. These two colors were not previously available on the 00, 01 or 02 models. Although I see a few Sheer silvers every now and again, the Polished Titanium is a very rare color, probably just as rare as the Tungsten Blue which was a one time color offered on the 02 model. It's a kinda mint green color. I am sure we have all seen it before.

Heres a copy of a post I made in another thread about paint codes --

I just bought a 2003 SE and I got the brochure for it, it has colors and codes. I don't see them on your list, although it is a bit hard to read.

2003 Paint codes---
Glacier Pearl - QX1 (white)
Majestic Blue - BW9 (dark blue)
Merlot - AX5 (burgandy)
Grey Lustre - KV3 (dark grey)
Super Black - KH3 (black)
Polished Titanium - WV2 (titanium package only) (light grey)
Sheer Silver - KY0 (light silver)
Sterling Mist - KT3 (silver)
Sunlit Sand - EV0 (not available with titanium package) (tan)

The Polished Titanium, Sheer Silver, Sterling Mist all look pretty close in the color samples on the brochure. I had to find the code to know I had Sheer silver.

I have 03 Polished Titanium.
The only other car they make in that color is the Q45. Very nice color.

silver...

To me, any silver Max looks good - my dark green Max is so hard to keep clean!

When I started looking for an 03 Max, I wanted the Polish Titanium model, but they were hard to find. Came across one on Ebay, but I couldn't put the deal together on a car out of NY and someone else on the Org from Chicago ended up buying the car. I was fine with any of the silver colors, so I ended up buying a Sterling Mist Max out of Wisconsin. I like all the silvers Nissan put out on the 03, especially since the headlight and taillight assemblies match so well.

Sheer silver is only available in 03. It looks great when your car is waxed and polished, especially on a clear sunny day.
