Keep us posted on the 2k1 to 2k2 headlight conversion. I was going to do this, but didn't quite understand hw so I just did the ae headlight mod to my 2k/2k1 headlights

 

Yes. 2k2 theives frequent these boards so that they can learn how to steal them. Please go back and edit your post.

 

There are a few members around here whom could help you with that should you choose to go that route.

 

All right, I edited my main post so if any bad guys want to learn from the good guys then it's not going to happend here. I just had the time to swap the 2k1 for the 2k2 before the rain start, took me a good 6 hours... I'm going to work the wiring in the morning tommorow, even though I have some basic instruction on the wiring, I suspect it might be different on canadian maxima because of the daylight but anyway as usual I'm going to use what the french people call the " System D "

I know that this subject is pretty taboo because of all the HID theft from 5.5 gen maximas. I'm not going to ask any specific information here. The scenario is this: I own a 2k2 maxima (for two months now) and my brother owns a 2k1. Since I got my car, he is insanely jealous because he has always wanted HID headlights. He is considering buying a pair of 02 headlights to install into his car, however there a few questions that come to mind before we undertake this project.

1.) How difficult is the install? What problems can occur?
2.) Where is a safe place to buy a set of reasonably priced 02 HIDs to ensure that they weren't stolen?

3.) If we do decide to convert, where can we find a reliable how-to without being branded thieves?
