PBR/Axxis Brakes

I replaced my front brake pads for the first time about a year(12,000 miles) ago with PBR Ceramic pads. I've read some good reviews about them and that's why I bought them. They might grip a little better, but they don't last for crap, and they dust like crazy. When i checked today, they had less than a 1/3 of lining left!!!. I am ordering some OEM pads tomorrow. I am really pissed. My recommendation - don't buy them! Anyone else has similar experinece with these?

....well, crap. I hate to hear that. I do agree on the horrible dusting too. Guess I will need to keep an eye on mine.

i have the PBR deluxe pads just sitting in my room...going to put them on during the summer...right now I have PBR ultimates and they freakin dust like no tomorrow...they squeal like a motherfu*ker too....the grip is nice, but if dust and squealing are your priorities, then DO NOT buy PBR ultimates...

i also had some PBR metal masters, those bishes squealed and dusted like crazy too...if these damn PBR deluxes squeal and dust, I'm DONE with PBR pads period

I bought the Axxis Ulitmate Ceramic Pads a couple of years ago for my 2K SE and thought the pads worked great. I put on D/S rotors and I ran them for over 50K miles. They held up great and I didn't have much dusting at all. The dust that I did see on my wheels was a light color and wasn't even noticable.

I don't know if PBR bought Axxis and lowered thier quality standards, but I was very happy with my setup.

I have PBR pads, they are dusty and squeek when cold. But they do stop really well. I can say after driving a E90 325 sport all day at work, my car has very similar brakes. I love them. I can tell you they dust less than BMW brakes.

Squeal and Dust, two very descriptive words on the PBR Ultimates. The dust, I can deal with. Squeal is something I refuse to deal with. I wind up getting mad at the squealing and braking harder to stop the squeal.

Does anyone know if replacing the clips and such will help with the squeaking? I know I had to replace the anti-squeal hardware when doing my wife's Expedition's brakes. I am running the PBR Ultimates and the Brembo OEM rotors all around. I am very happy with the firmer braking feel (via the Goodridge SS brake lines and ATE Super Blue fluid) and better stopping distances. I had those on my car for about 2 weeks after buying them through a GD. Too much noise and dust for my taste.
