Well last night I ran into an M3 on the HWY he had and exhaust and what sounded like an intake. Well we lined up going about 50-60 mph. He gunned it 1st, but as soon as I noticed I put the petal to the floor, and I imediatly jumped 3 cars on the M3, and this is from within 70-80. So then I let off and he zooms right past me like if he had won. (I hate it when ppl pull that cr@p)

So about a mile later I see he brakes and we line up again, same thing happens but this time I took it to about 110. But by that time I was quite a few cars ahead, but due to traffic I had to slow down, and what does the M3 do, well we can all guess he was ****ed and pulls the same fly by as before. I have this on video both pulls, but I don't know how to upload it, and my camera man kinda sucks so only one is really clear. Maybe I will post soon.

Is your Maxima an Auto or 5 speed. I suspect that the M3 you raced was a rebadged 323 or 328i. M3's are fast on the highway. I raced my friends M3 Auto Convertible and he was pulling on me from 30-60. His brother has a 328i with the factory M package(same as E36 M3) and if you don't know your BMW's that well, you would think that it is a M3.

Yeah I should have done the hazards, but I figured that when someone jumps on you 2-3 cars from the start it would show no competition.

My only mod is a S/C

Ohh I have a 5spd also.

I am pretty sure this was a ///M3. HE even raced a Integra right after me and pulled on him with no problem. The integra was watching my runs, ans when he saw I took him, he attempted to do the same but it did not end the same he lost.

dude

M3's have like 330+HP and do 0-60 in under 5 sec!!!!!

And all it took was a S/C to beat him?

Wow.

the new M3 has those specs. The older M3 put out like 250 or 260 hp I think. Can someone check that?

Well... an S/C sure puts you close enough to make it a matter of driver skill on 5-spd cars. Without it, the M3 should thoroughly humiliate a Maxima...

The M3 Driver obviously was sub-par, and our Maxima friend had the advantage... Given equal driver skill, I would prolly agree with justmax, and say that it'd be pretty hard for you to pull off a highway kill on an M3 with just an S/C...

I see

yeah, according to edmunds.com, the '99 and older M3's only put out 240HP but still run 60's in less than 6 sec. Dammit and I was saving up to buy a used one. Anyway, good kill, dontcha love pis_sing off those guys that buy $40K Bimmers and get blown away by a Nissan?

How can he be THAT much better the the driver of the M3 from highway speeds?? Pretty much, the 5speeds have the trouble at the beginning/launching. its not hard to drive/shift fast on the highway, i say he beat him, no driver error. But i will give you that it could have been a 325/28 and that is why he pulled so much.

Hello!! He did not run the new BMW M3, he ran the last gen right before the big one came out. I ran with a M3 the last gen and it only got 1 1/2 cars on me by 90.... A few others had the same results. A supercharged max 5spd will have no problems taking a M3.

Re: Re: dude

OKAY NEWBIES!!! Obviously you have no idea how much more hp the supercharger adds, and see the specs and times for the 1/4 of the BMW M3, last gen. IF a stock 5spd 5th gen only loses by 1 1/2 cars to 90 with a M3, a SC max will defintely take one. What is so hard to believe people? 250hp to the wheels with a supercharger is like 305 hp! The last gen M3 is not near that!

Gotta agree, the M3 is fast, but not THAT much faster than a Max. A S/C 5spd should kill it with some ease. The Max I raced lost by about 4 lengths from 70 to 120, and chances are he was an auto, since there's a hell of a lot more of those than 5spds. I don't know that much about the Max 5spds, but being 1-2 lengths back if the auto was about 4 sounds about right. A S/C would definitely take car of that. On another note-I got my *** kicked in the Grand Am by none other than a 5G GLE today! The guy thought I was on crack or something, cause I was happier than he was about it.

humm....40K and still be blown away by Nissan, that poor chap is probably still wondering what hit him! M3's with competent drivers shouldn't be beaten that easily....however, it must of been one heck of show for the other folks to see a Nissan pull away.....what was that Integra thinking?

If this was a E36 M3 without mods and you have a supercharger, I would definetely believe you would win. The E36 M3 only had 245 horspower in the US Version.

Now, if this was a E46 M3, you woulda been slaughtered. 333 HP and 267 lbs/ft + 6 speed manual = bye bye, unless the driver was really REALLY bad.

As stated previously it was a E36 a 99 or older M3, I don't think I have seen a new (E46) M3 on the streets as of yet, has anyone?

Anyway, good kill!!! Most upper class cars that I have raced are sore losers, because they expect to win.
The E36 M3 only has 240hp stock,
Mods:
CAI - Peak Horsepower Gain: 12HP @ 6000 rpm
Full exhaust - 9HP @6500 rpm
Chip - 10HP @ 5000 rpm
Total of 271hp... no prob with a S/C
Would have loved to hear the results if you ran a E46 M3!
I have seen 3-4 E46 M3s. They are kinda hard to spot, not that much more noticable then the gen before, except the smurf blue one. That one stands out like a sore thumb. Never lined up with one ( they were all parked ), so I couldn't tell ya how much I would've gotten my a$$ kicked by in my Max. Would love to run one with my 850
