I have known Don @ NextGear for many years. I have seen these gaskets first hand, but I haven't gotten them installed yet.
Dyno proof is needed, I agree. Good things are coming..... stay tuned!

i would be in pending more details on these.
anyone know the melting temp for the plastic?? to an earlier post, i dont think they would make a plastic gasket that would melt that easier from the heat of the head. so you shouldn't be smelling any burning or melting plastics from these.

Representative Dyno Charts...
Ok, these are NOT Maxima dyno charts, but they are points to consider for these intake manifold gaskets. I know everyone is screaming for dyno data on a Maxima, and we are working on that. Hopefully in the next 3 weeks, we can have the data you are looking for.
In the mean time, here is some dyno charts from NextGear's website for a 2002 Civic Si with a short ram intake, and a 2000 VW Passat with an APR Stage 1 ECU upgrade.

2k2 - 2k3 Maxima wanted for dyno testing
I spoke with Don @ NextGear this morning and we are looking for a 2k2-2k3 Maxima in the Nashville, TN to Huntsville, AL (I-65 Corridor) for dyno testing on the NextGear Intake Manifold Gaskets in the next 3 weeks (before Maxus 2006).
I will be posting this in the SouthEast section also.

I have emailed them twice asking questions about their product but haven't gotten a reply. I'm assuming the emails never made it or else were somehow overlooked.
I'm about 6 hours away from Nashville, 7.5 away from Huntsville. Where exactly is their shop located? Since this is going to be a promotional test, everything is done for free? And why can't you be the test mule? It would seem that you have been in closer contact than any of us with him. I feel I am too far away to justify $3 a gallon gas and a hotel room to boot for a part that's only going to cost $100 if purchased! lol
I'm honestly interested in the results of the dyno and looking forward to seeing it on paper, provided all variables remain the same, just like everybody else.

Second question, will "everything is done for free"? I do not work for NextGear so I do not know. That would be a conversation that needs to happen with Don Napier after he decides on a test subject and location. I would expect them to pick up the tab.
Third question, why can't I be the test subject. I have some whacked out a/f ratios right now (i.e. a problem I am tracking down) and I wouldn't want to unfairly skew the numbers on the good or bad side. I dynoed stock about 10 hp lower than 'the norm' with a very very rich a/f. Once adding the Cattman Gen-II headers, I only picked up 11 hp and 7 tq and a horribly rich a/f (almost 11:1 at 6k).

Got ya. I understand about the shop and everything and you not being able to answer for them, makes sense to me. It looks like you should try to get someone closer to Huntsville than Nashville but they aren't that far apart.
Ouch, 11:1 is kinda rich. I understand. So you would want as stock a car as possible or very lightly modded? That should represent more of the .org community than most anything else.
Thanks for the reply, man!

I would think a close to stock car would be the best (because it would have the most 'unfooled with' core). My car, being halfway heavily modded, has a whacked out tune (and I think it is resultant from using an early model 2k3 MAF instead of the $100 more expensive 2k2 MAF). But I digress. Back to the topic at hand.

epacy, i want to be clear on this one...this is a TWO set gasket system correct? one that goes between upper IM and lower IM...and the other goes between lower IM and heads? i just took a look at the 2002 maxima FSM and...
the installation doesn't seem that hard...removing the upper IMing isn't a problem for me (taken it off many times)....the lower IM is new to me...but according to the FSM, there are 8 bolts that hold the lower IM to the heads...everything should slide right off after that...correct me if i am wrong for those who have actually done it...
as for the upper IM, its cake for me....for those who never attempted it, you might get frusterated by some of the stubborn hoses and the two bolts near the firewall (so hard to reach)...

The third gasket goes between the upper and lower IM. The same one that is replaced when you pull the upper IM for spark plug changes.

thanks for clarifying epacy....i hope the installation won't be a bi+ch....but according to the FSM, its 8 bolts and it should slide right off...

6spd said they were going to do them before Maxus, so that time is approaching. Any info 6spdHayes? Is Don still around?
