Ready to post Dynos tonight but need help from someone.
I will post the Dynos from MY Plenum SPACER, if someone would help me. I have not been using these boards too long (obviously) and I only have a prinout of yesterday's final dyno..(waiting for all the run files for this dyno and others) BUT I can only scan into PDF file which I have here. How do I get these as pics up here? I have a digital camera at home, but not here at work. If someone could just help me with this I will give you all what you convinced yourselves that I did not have.
Use Konvertor from www.download.com and convert your PDFs to JPEG...
http://www.gold-software.com/download9787.html looks like a free trial.
http://www.pdf-convert.com/convert/PDF-to-JPG.html also a free trial of another.

Look sleeper, don't make it sound like we're the one's that started this whole mess with your "convinced yourselves that I did not have" comment. We didn't convince ourselves that you didn't have the files, you did. It's a simple matter of you saying you were going to do something and then not doing it.
ZAGZIG....
They are being posted, and I am not a psychiatrist. There was a reasonable explanation for my actions, and I tried to explain why..This is only one file that I have, but willing to post because it was taken yesterday. I am not here to babysit the boards, I am here to develop a new product that NO ONE else has....As for reading the other post about NEXTGEAR's gasket set....different story there. Let me ask all of you this one stupid question....They are selling this under the false pretenses of giving you HP gains and lowering temperatures internally correct?? Where did they get the proof that it worked if they are looking for a donor car right now?????? Hmm kind of makes you think a bit, on top of the fact that nothing was said of this until a GROUP DEAL was being put together..(meaning they would generate revenue off of this) I have not and will not ask anyone for money on this project...it is already done as far as development goes.

Oh, just emailed POLO the PDF...sorry it is all I have with me at work right now to show the gains of the final product. When it is posted POLO, please let m eknow, and also I will explain what I did to the car. I just sent over the file to him to post and he realized I sent the wrong one. He is telling me when it is posted.

damn hes running SUPER rich....i wonder what he would get with some tuning...
also i notice this is a 2nd gear pull...why didn't you go for 3rd? (3rd is the magic gear for automatics i35)
also i notice this is a 2nd gear pull...why didn't you go for 3rd? (3rd is the magic gear for automatics i35)
First off, thank you for all being "patient" LOL.... Thanks to POLO for being on top of posting that. I am running rich right now...and I HAVE to explain this run to everyone so they understand.....
I had the car out yesterday morning around 8am...
When I took it out, I had full EVERYTHING on the car...I run this car at 268WHP (Yes thats right) because of various custom modifications I had done to it. We took everything off of the car to see what the true gains were without anything but the spacer on....(except I still had the cams and the NZ Cattman Headers on...too much to take off and put back on). Through all of this, it was alot of work to get done to show it, but here is one example...as far as the tuning goes, I already have corrected the RICHNESS of my run through the SAFC and need a new MAF as well.....(words of advice, if you have cold air intake and AEM bypass valve because you are scared of water log, it burns out the MAF faster!!) Just from experience. I hope this resolves SOMETHING here, as these are my most recent results. I also have a shoot of the air intake temp with and without the spacer on. For those of you who question the Dyno run and think that I have posted someone elses car, please send me your cell #'s so I can forward you a picture of my car and my plate # which is DJF2095 (to avoid future skepticism) NOW if there are any questions feel free to ask away.
As for Barc...
Taking everything you brought up to me into serious consideration. I honestly appreciate the fact that we debated so much.

But I'm not going to debate this any further, please understand that. This is your thread about dyno numbers. I'll let those with numerous dyno runs chime in with any questions or comments.
Barc,
I understand your skepticism, but in whole the numbers do speak for themselves. As far as you not debating this anymore, I understand, but if you would like to make your statements to me, feel free. I will answer as much as possible between us. I am not fighting, as it is fruitless. I have shown the spacer to two individuals so far and have many more interested in it. If you do not believe in it, pure and simple, do not get one. Up to you. I have all of the supporting documentation that you can ask for and will post as I feel it is necessary. I am not being sarcastic or childish here, I wrote you a thank you to kind of apologize for the way that the previous post went. I understand your skepticism as previously stated.

I'm just waiting for someone independent of anyone else, i.e. spending their own dime or you giving the spacer to someone to dyno, and seeing their dyno numbers. Admittedly, the dyno you give looks promising, but we are missing a ton of information.
It just looks suspicious to me to see a large gap in A/F between runs, if that is what the bottom lines are displaying. I could be wrong as I've not done a lot of dynoing and am far from an expert. That's why I'm leaving this to the dyno experts on the forum. I'm not going to even try to interpret the data.
I hope you appreciate my suspicions and don't take them as knocking you personally.
Thanks.

So, those were the dyno runs from yesterday.
What happened to the 3 dyno runs you pulled April 31? I thought you were going to post them.
edit: Also, do you have the acutal numerical values of each run.

To Epacy,
I only posted yesterday's run HP wise because I have over 30 pulls with this car in various forms, so I did not want to confuse anyone asking me about each individual run and what I had on, and what wasn't on the car etc.
To Barc,
The bottom numbers ARE in fact A/F. Yes I am running verrrry rich right now, I actually wanted them printed to show me what they were so when I put on the SAFC again, I can fine tune.
TOO ALL> I am meeting POLO either this weekend or next to hopefully have another test subject...he doesn't know I am going to ask him so.....SHHHH (OOPS kinda let that one out) I just have to get another of the same exact material that I have on mine cut. Towards the end of yesterday you might as well have cooked breakfast on my hood. 16 pulls total yesterday, but absolutely no point to show all of them in my opinion. It would confuse everyone as to exactly what I had on my car at the time of the run. Also I am taking pictures so that everyone can see first/second run in pretty colors.

Barc,
I am no expert at reading dyno charts either. I do know this though...my car is was running EXTREMELY rich. I believe that with my SAFC back on the car and some leaning out, I will get another 5 WHP out of it. I am running rich and NEED to be leaned out. The fuel curve is running too rich for optimal gains right now, but I will switch it and re dyno AGAIN!! I was running lean and seemed have more low end power in the car. I found when we were doing the dyno that the leaner the car ran in inside temperatures, the better it ran, but I think there is a slow response in the car switching rich to lean (MAF problem) I have another MAF on hand that I will put on this weekend, and IF I CAN, I will re dyno the car with everything off except cams and headers with the SAFC to tune it and show a better fuel curve. This dyno posted was average of all the runs.

Oh sorry I am picking up these run files this weekend, and a good friend of mine informed me that since it was run on a Dynometer, I can download from the Dynojet site a program that will let me add in points to the run files so I can show the numerical values..I am not sure how true that is, but I WILL find out. Supposedly you can do alot with the run files. <To answer your question.
I answered you Epacy. I told you that I would get the run files and let you see for yourself by adding the points in the file for you so you can see it across the band. 232 to 238 with spacer.

About 6HP smaller spacer. I will put the points in the run file over the weekend (if this can be done like was told to me) You must understand one thing, I apologize for holding out on some of the dynos, but I wanted to make sure that the product I was advertising worked with unfudged numbers. I am not lookin got hype up something that will not do what it says to do. Meeting someone from the org this weekend to show him mine and possibly give him spacers for headers and plenum. We will see...

People are keeping a close eye on BOTH of these threads (about the NextGear Gaskets and your spacer). Intake manifold gaskets (for thermal blocking) is not a new thing. NextGear is just another company that makes these type gaskets. They are an established company who is making MANY different gaskets for many different applications. The gains quoted by the company are on other vehicles, not a Maxima. No one is pulling any wool over anyone's eyes. What false pretenses are they trying to sell you their product? It is proven by data and dyno numbers on other vehicles.
Epacy brought up the idea on a group buy for the NextGear Thermoshield gaskets. Not a single gasket for a Maxima will be sold until the dyno data is in.
6 Speed...Nextgear is selling thermo GASKETS not spacers. Their gaskets aren't even 1/8 of an inch thick. They probably do decrease the plenum temperature somewhat. I KNOW Nextgear is not a new company and never said it was. I HAD their gaskets already and did not see anythign off of them. It's up to the consumer where they want to go. I understand your point, they are an established company, where as you are talking to an individual making a product and doing his own testing. I understand the doubt here, and do not blame anyone for being skeptical. The first round of results are in and it looks promising. That is what I am trying to say. As far as Nextgears product, I KNOW first hand that it doesn't work. People can pay very close attention to this thread and that other thread, bottom line is when the spacer comes out it will have a trusted name on it. I am not working alone on this and have said it to everyone from the beginning. If you want to go buy Nextgears product, I am not going to try and stop you, just giving you MY OPINION. Nextgear can make very good products for all I know, just trying to say that the VQ35 gasket set didn't give me any power is all. If Mr. Mapier wants to debate or try and prove me wrong, then so be it he has my email and he can look in the system as to see whan my order was. It is really up to the consumer to make the final decision. I am trying to do this for the Maxima community and I35 community first and foremost. I just have a question..(not sarcastic) Has ANYONE looked into the materials of the gasket set they are selling? If so what were the results?
sleeperI35,
I understand you want to keep people up to date and that is great. But if I were you and I was making these I would not bother and just come out with it when your done. Or else your just going to keep going back and fourth w/ people over trivial arguments. I would rather spend my time getting it done. Good luck finishing it up.

actually, it's quite the opposite. he's trying to keep it simple and not update much. it's everyone else asking questions (with due reasoning) wanting to know as much as possible. this is why we had the other thread locked.
i'll be meeting up with him tomorrow early afternoon, so me and him will be able to discuss more.

Thank you 03 Maxima, and to a certain degree you are right. I really wanted and came here FOR trivial arguements, because by no means do I have the answers to everything having to do with the engineering of the motor and/or the operations of every component. I don't look at it as wasting time here, Barc has given me some skepticism which makes me question certain things in the operation of the spacer, and a couple others have given me some good ideas and comments. I wanted to gather thoughts of current and Previous Maxima owners to assist me with ideas on it. I feel there are plenty of more knowledgable people out there on this subject and welcome any questions or concerns.
Mr. Polo, you have to call me, I am getting very busy tomorrow, but HAVE to make time to meet with you...you have the number.

Now for the positive, I think it is a really good idea for someone to try the spacer method that 350Z's have shown makes good power (albeit their spacer add's manifold volume based on the upper and lower plenums). The only place I can see you adding your spacer is between the upper and lower IM's (which I believe I have read in the other thread that got locked). I have done some IM design for the VQ35, so if you need any CAD done, let me know. This is a quick stab at a design:
You know I35, I wasn't going to waste my time pointing out all the discrepancies in your stories but you continue to attempt and bash the NextGear product without cause. Also, you continue to mislead people on when and what information you are going supply about your "product".
Again, like 6spd mentioned, where are these false pretenses? For you to claim they are false prentenses, you would have to have facts to back up your claim. Where are your facts? ie. dyno?
When did you have them on?
A company wanting to make money? Jeez, that is a new one.
Tell me, why are you "producing" this product with this other company? What are their reasons for making it?
I waited to post Nextgear's product once I had talked with the owner and already took the step to see if he would do a GD because I knew people would be interested in a product like theirs and someone would ask about a GD.
I really can't understand why you would make this comment, because it really seems like a non-issue.
Now, these two comments you will have to explain to everyone. You have said about 2 or 3 times the Nextgear gaskets on your car showed no gains. Then, yet another time, you said they did show gains.
Tell me again why we should believe what you say?
Finally, to get back to your "false pretenses" argument, I salute Don Napier for getting a car together to go and dyno his product so he can prove to Maxima owners that his product does work before he sells anything. What is false about that?
Please spend more time focusing on following through with what you say and less on another thread.
I am not biased toward one product or the other. I just want more power! Additionally, I imagine you could use these two products in conjunction, with the Nextgear gaskets being between the lower manifold and the heads and the spacer between the upper and lower IM, provided you have clearance for all that.

You should have clearance for all of that, but to point something out, the seal would not be as "tight" I just replied to somone here, and thought about what I said after I posted it. Can't take a post back and from here on in, and I apologize to everyone for this debate back and forth. I will shut up unless asked a direct question about my product. You are right Epacy, and whoever just said that I should have kept quiet until the spacer was ready is completely right. No more going back and forth on this and no more fighting about it. I am meeting someone again from here who can see the materials for themselves and take it from there. I know everyone wants more HP and it is half the reason for this spacer. I am not misleading anyone Epacy, the results are posted and they are what they are. no one can dispute the product shows gains. I apologize especially to Don Napier because I do not know him personally. I will not speak on another product from here on in. The one thing is I wish people would just stop arguing over it. I didn't come to argue. My first reaction to the post with no gains whatsoever was wrong to say, I dragged it too far. There was a reduction in temperature to the touch. My apologies once again.
Epacy, if you knew what was going on with the product behind the scenary, then you would understand. I will not go into detail because I seem to stick my foot in my mouth when I do that. At least I am a man and can admit when I do wrong.
