Power window not working

My wife rolled down the driver window, and tried to roll it back up, it started coming up very very slowly, then stopped, and dropped back down an inch or so, and now wont go up or down.
It had been getting flakey (rolling up slow, taking a few tries before it even started to roll up) every once in a while.

I took the door apart and looked at the mechanism, everything seemed in tact, nothing broken. So i dont know if it's the motor or not. If it is, what's the best way to get a replacement and how hard is it to replace, it looked a little difficlut, and i'm worried about the cable, and tension etc..

Thanks for any input you have

You need to reset the positions on the window. There should be a red button in the door. Check the stickies for the procedure.

I went through the stickies, even a search, and cant find what you are talking about. I'm probably just blind or something :-)

Ok i read it, and it's good info, but I cant get the window back up to start the reset sequence. Anyone know how to get it back up? It's mostly down, and will not go down the rest of the way or back up at all.

Use the palm of your hand and slide it up...it may work.

Thank you so much for posting the link to thread with the write up on how to fix the auto rollup issue. I was just about to post a thread asking about it myself.

Ok i've tried getting it to come up with my hands but it doesnt want to budge, but i also dont want to break anything. Could the motor have siezed? Would the window still move if that awas teh case, i cant manually move the window up or down.

If you buttons still can control the window then no the motor has not siezed.

Did you check the fuses?

It's possible the cable came off the track or the motor just went..time to call a junkyard
