Car wouldn't rev past 2.5k rpm HELP

I was driving to work a few days ago merging into highway traffic i shift from
3rd to 4th at about 5k rpms car lost power immediatedly. I towed it firestone becasue nissan was closed they told me i have a MAF senso code it will cost about $1200 alone for the MAF . They said i had codes for TB and others they cant figure, they told me to take it to nissan. I bought this car about two months ago a 2002 6-speed with 31,000 miles. Would nissan cover repairs from i know i am still under powertrain not sure about Bumper to bumper. And also is there a recall on throttle Body (TB) and might that have cause my maf problem. I want to go to nissan in the morning with all my fact. This is my first time at the dearship need all the help i can get.

1200.. Damn... BS. what a ripoff.. call Daveb and ask him about the MAF price. You can go with yours 02-03 for $400 or the 01 revised version and get it for $88 shipped.

well don't know why. If you still have warranty go and take the car in but if not well you can do it yourself.. it is like a 20 minute job........

very easily done, its almost too simple really. I guess they couldn't really make it much more difficult although I'm sure they tried like everything else. guess they just had to jack the price up on the part since they couldn't make it more difficult to change. Get the part from Dave B. and you'll be fine. good luck. I replaced mine a few weeks back and it made a huge difference on how my car runs.

It's a bad MAF sensor. He may very well need that recall and the TB tsb to be addressed, but the code he's throwing and the symptoms he's showing point to a burned out MAF sensor.
