Car accident with a drunk driver

Last night on my way home with my girl, 5 blocks from my house making a left turn notice a car speeding down behind me and I am telling myself I hope this guy planning on slowing and 2 seconds later smashed my whole rear of my car... 2nd rear ended in less than a year WTF, so of course my girl tells me to get rid of the car after that, the guy was sooo drunk he got out and went back in his car and said he will be right back so pull him and out his car and took the keys from his ingnition and waiting to for the police and when they came while walking to them he fell into the bushes so he got arrested... Just received my H&R w/ Illuminas and rims was going to be order this week so my question is should I keep the max or go with this CL 500 2002 my girl wants me to get but she doesn't know planning on buying the engagement ring with the money I have saved but I love my max. What should I do??? my bad about this long story but needed to take out some stress...

Sorry to hear about the Max. That's a pretty big jump to CL 500. Do what you can afford and no one on here will be able to tell you that.

Glad to hear that y'all are okay.

oh man.. sorry to hear about that. at least you're both okay. you're still alive to sue the drunk bastard for all he's got!!

depending on how damaged the car is, it's probably time to dump it and move on. if he hit you at any sort of angle and more than 10mph, then it's almost sure to have a bent frame and that's no good.

im glad you or your girl did not get hurt in the crash. i would say a cl500 is a big jump...and it will probably cost you a lot over time on repairs and maintence. but hell thats a CAR. you should look at some other choices though before you decide on the CL. look at what acura infiniti or lexus have to offer... even used ones you cant go wrong with a lexus or acura...them cars last forever. in fact lexus i think got named the best or most dependable pre owned car you can buy. just think about it good before you decide.

Sorry to hear about your accident. If I was in your shoes, I'd definitely get rid of that Max. Even if it can be repaired, it will never be the same.

sorry to hear about the accident..drunk drivers really suck at life.

a cl is a huge jump up from the max - it'll probably cost a good amount more to also maintain and insure.

I'm glad you two are alright! Part out the Max, and buy ANOTHER MAX! CL500? Very nice car, but I'd prefer a highly modded Max over one of those. More unique.

Sorry to hear that about the Max and glad both of you are alright! Why don't you have her by the CL500 and you buy the house/condo and the engagement ring? Worth a shot, no?

AMEN to that. I'm sorry to hear about that man. Especially just loosing my MAX to an as'shole running the redlight this past Friday. I myself am still trying to figure out what to get next.

Top 3 choices: 300/300c, Magnum, or Charger.

if you like the cl too, that's great, but if not, you'll be stuck driving a car you don't really feel satisfied with.

Get a 6th gen maxima. Enough of 5th gen, try something different.

Independant rear suspension FTW!

get a 1000 dollar engagement ring ( cause honestly what does a higher priced ring have anything to do with how much you love the girl,...besides you'll need the extra money to help pay for the wedding),... get a used 2000 se, put a down payment on a house ( its better than the ring!!!!! shows you are commited, hmmmm that could be the best thing to do IMO....believe me I know.) SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT THE ACCIDENT, Glad you are both allright. you can replace the car, but you 2,....... are not replaceable. MY.02

Cause when 02 max came out thats what I really wanted and as far as she is high maintenance farrr from that, been with her for almost 6 years we went through financial hell and back. She wanted to want get C class but went to the dealership and I saw the CL and fell in love with it so she said instead of her getting the car she wants she rather put the down payment towards the CL for me....But was looking to buy and rent out this 2 family house.... Anyway Thanx for all the suggestions and I wish u guys all the best.....
