ABS Dynamics plastic rear lip fitment.

So how the hell did you guys fit this on your cars? Fitment is terrible. You can't just "slide" it on.

You try to put one side on and "pull" the whole thing so the other side goes in but then the first side falls off.

In other words, fitment is WAAAY too tight, even the body shop said they cannot fit it without modifications.

Any advice?

I know a lot of you guys have this lip.

It's the ABS Dynamics rear lip, not the generic ebay one.

mine was tight... but once it was bolted it in was just fine. Did you have someone hold the other side?

You need two people, and you just have to work with it a little to fit how you want it. The sides flare out so you have to push them in to your liking while you screw it in.

Yeah this is what I tried, but as I pushed the sides in, the bottom corner on the drivers side began to bulge out, so I just used one screw on each side and let them flare out.

so you intentionally let them bulge out? that's ugly though.

ok im kinda skeptical now. what color was your ABS Dynamics rear lip? Mine was black and came in a BIG BOX that said ABS Dynamics on it and it was wrapped in a plastic bag that didn't say ABS Dynamics on it.

on www.absdynamics.com it shows the lip in white. mine was black. WTF.

There's a possibility that it will do that. It should still be fine though even if one side bulges out while you have the other pushed in. You'll just have to go around and push the other one in and secure it. You could have someone hold the other one in place too, but I really don't think it would make a huge difference as long as your aligning is correct.

Dry fit wasn't that great, like others said I had to have another person hold the other side of it. Once installed though the filiment looked better than my Maxx Tuning front lip.

Mine is black, came from ebay, it did require a little modification but the fit is perfect now and tight, it required less modification than my Stillen sides!

Thanks a lot, I got the car in January lowered with the catback udp and intake, I previously had a 4th Gen modded, so I knew exactly what I wanted to do and where to get the stuff. To answer your question my bodyshop installed and painted the kit, all they said was they had to do some grinding here and there on the insides to ge the proper fitment, sorry not much help.

i have the front lip installed too, and yeah there were some fitment issues, CHROMESES, told me bout' them, even before i ordered my front lip.....
u'll just have to use dremmel, and dremmell around (driver) side fog light thingy, just a lil bit, and again (let it sit out on the sun, for some long time) its so much easier to work with plastic once it warms up, cause you can bend it easier and you can work with it anyway you want to.....a lot easier once it warms up....i couldnt believe it.....
good luck
