Svc. Engine Soon Light on too soon
#1
HELP!! I had my 2000 Max in the dealership the other day because the front wheel bearing needed to be replaced-(already)! I only have 26k miles, so luckily it was covered under warranty. When I picked the car up, the "SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT" was on. Has anyone had this happen? What did you do? What does it mean? The dealer told me to bring it back, so they could reset the light-he advised that sometimes when they disconnect the batteries, it will cause that light to come on....HELP!!!!!

make sure all the sensors are in nice and tight. The OSCAI should not trigger any lights unless you have a bad sensor. Unplug the battery for a while and then see if you get any lights. If you do, take the OSCAI off and go to the dealer....

I think it can.....my friend has a sentra that needed a new alternator. The dealer replaced the alternator, but when he got the car back, his MIL light was on. The dealer wanted to charge another $70 just to read the code. So, we unplugged the battery for a few hours, hooked it back up, and no light. He has not had the light go on since. So, I think a voltage spike or something like that can cause the light to go on for no other apparant reason.

light is gone..
I was at work earlier and knew that I was gonna be there for another 3 hrs so I disconnected the battery. When I got out I reconnected it and started the car...no light. I drove home (30 miles) and it never showed up. I'm just hoping that it doesn't light up again. If it does then I guess I DO have an issue.
