Took Out Side Markers, Now My Engine Light Came On!!

Is hat reason to why my engine light came on? I disconnected my sidemarkers to paint them, but had to let dry. So i started my car, my engine light is on. Can it be the disconnection of the sidemarkers?

Sometimes it just happens like that. Its weird, but from being on car forums for a while it happens more than youd think. Somebody says, "i changed my oil and my SES is on!" or "i did my brakes and have a check engine light" or something like that. Its usually not possible to be related unless they unplugged something and forgot about it, just a coincidence

Take it to Autozone and have them hook up the scanner to it... You can also have them reset it if its nothing... And Autuzone does this all for free!

Could be anything...my SES light came on yesterday. A few hours later I was reaching underneath my car, shaking the exhaust pipe because I was hearing a rattling coming from it. I turn the car on and the SES light is gone. Who knows... Anyone know how long the sensors on our cars are rated to last? they must start to short out eventually...

No, The light probably went on at the same time. It's something else. Take your ride in

Went to autozone to have them check it. When they pulled it, it came up as a cattilac converter (mispelled) this is the 3rd time with the same problem. They fixed it the first for free, then I had to fight with the dealership to fix it again for free, now I look foward to arguing again. I hope I get the same result. Is this suppose to happen frequently with this problem? Its crazy.

Changing side markers turned on your SES light? Are you ****ing serious? You know nothing about cars if this is what you think.

Please refrain from using any derogatory words. It screams "ignorant" although I'm sure you are not.
