Service Bulletin NTB99017A - Ticking sound from fan
#1
Hello all. According to the NHTSA site, "SOME CUSTOMERS MAY INDICATE THAT A LIGHT TICKING OR HUMMING NOISE CAN BE HEARD COMING FROM THE BLOWER MOTOR OF AN APPLIED VEHICLE WHEN THE MOTOR IS RUN AT LOW FAN SPEEDS." I thought it was normal 'cause... well, it's a fan. It's supposed to make some noise... I had to really strain to hear the ticking noise. Anyway, I brought my car (2000) in for the 12000km service and asked them to also look at the fan. They replaced the fan cover and now it's whisper quiet. Much better... no more slight ticking sound.
Anyway, for those Canadians out there, here's the Canadian part # and description:
Noise from blower motor on low speed.
Cause: Electrical Failure
TB30A1 RE&RE Blower Motor Cover
107 WPN
1 27227-0E002 Cover
The part number may be the same as the US version, but I'm not sure. Hope this helps.
