OEM Front Brakes, Aftermarket Rear???

I replaced my front rotors and pads about a year and half ago when I got my car and now the rear rotors and pads are shot too and need to be replaced. My front brakes are all OEM so should I go with all OEM rear brakes too? I'd eventually want to get some drilled Brembos all over and some performance pads but I'm not sure if I should keep the rear OEM to match the front. What would happen if I put some aftermarket rotors and pads just on the rear? What about just aftermarket pads with OEM rotors? Thanks...

i'm thinking about buying Brembo blanks and Axxis pads for the rear from the GD. Does it matter that my front brakes are OEM?

technically, you should have similar pads on the front and rear with similar compund and braking characteristics. In the real world, it really does not matter. I suggest oem pads for the rear as they won't squeel and probably last longer than aftermarket pads. The rear also contributes to about 30% of your overall braking. If you don't get oems, try akebono ceramics or some bendix ceramic ct-3 pads.

I bought the Brembo blanks with the Axxis pads for both front and rears for my '02. First of all, if you have extra cash, go with something else. The blanks stay rusted(center part) and mine squeals for 2-3 seconds in the beginning and then it stops. The squeals just started. They were installed about three months ago.

thanks for the input. I'll just stick with OEM even though the Brembos are less than half the price...

they nickel-plated the cross-drilled rotors prior to shipping them to me when i ordered from brakepros. that should eliminate most corrosion from the parts of the brake where the pads don't sweep them.

I just put Bendix titaniumetallic II on the fronts and Raybestos PD plus on the rear last week. No sqeeking at all, but the bendix dust something awful. The raybestos don't dust at all. I think I am going back to ceramic pads in the front cause I can't deal with all the dust, but they do bite very good though
