Maxima God has blessed me

Sup all,

I have a 2000 se and i had cel light. p0430 and p 0420. Bad part is my inspection had just expired on my car and u cant pass if you cel light is on. So i pulled the code and it was the p0430 p0420. so i was screwed !! month goes by still no inspection and cel is bright as ever. Then , parked in the city I find out my car was side swiped. Just a lil cosmetic damage but still i took it to the auto shop and was getting fixed. While in the shop the shop told me i needed a new battery so i said go for it.. (insurance covered it all) to make a long story short. After the battery was replaced the light went out.. I thought it would come back on .. But it never did so i took my car got it inspected and everything is Great~!!! has this ever happened to anybody ???? so all u people with p0430 and p0420 codes change your batteries and it might actually fix the issue.....

Those codes have nothing to do with the battery from my search, I wouldn't be surprised if the CEL comes back on. Also, why didn't you just fix it in the month that passed?

Swapping the battery probably just reset the ECU therefore clearing the codes. They will probably come back.

Like already said, the battery being disconnected is what cleared the codes; it has nothing to do with it being replaced. If your pre-cats are bad, the CEL will come back later, if not, then it was one of those "ghost" codes that people talk about.
