question about torque braking...

searched a little and didnt find the exact answer so sorry if a repost.

i have an 02 gle with AT. if i held both feet on the pedals and held it at a higher rpm lets say 2500 and then let off the brake suddenly to give a better launch is there any harm done to the car by holding it for a few seconds at higher rpms then idle?

is this even helpful on street or dragstrip situations? or just damaging to the transmission? brakes? rotors?

This technique will hasten the demise of your transmission due to the excessive heat build-up generated by slipping the torque converter.

It is very effective to launch an automatic car this way, but repeatedly doing this will result in problems with the trans. You have been warned.

thats why i have decided to go with a stall converter.. ask level 10. i'm having a phantom grip lsd installed with a stall converter and a valve body upgrade. Its sooo much cheaper and safer for the tranny..
