Will a VQ35 fit in the back of a 98 Rav4?

I'm picking up my new motor on Saturday and was wondering if the VQ35 would fit in the back of my Rav4 or if I should rent a truck/larger SUV?

with the seats folded down, I don't see why it wouldn't fit. Getting it in and out could be tricky, though. Also depends on if you're gonna have a tranny attached or not...

Should fit no problem, but like Josh mentioned, getting it in and out would be the hard part I would imagine.

I put one in the back of a '99 Jeep Grand Cherokee without the seats folded down. Advice: bring three or four used tires to brace it when you drive it and make sure to have a good 4 buddies to help move the bish! It's damn heavy!

Where did you find 4 good buddies?

I didn't think your 5 buddies on the right were strong enough to move an engine!\

How much does the motor weight? I thought I read somewhere around 230lbs or so but I don't trust my memory. I was hoping maybe myself and a friend (two at the most) would be able to load/unload it.

It should fit, we managed to put a short block in the passenger seat of a maxima before

Watch out for the coolant and oil that seems to flow out of every orifice

Fit a VE in a Durango and back of a Highboy F350

it's not easy getting an engine out of a F350 if you don't have a tractor avaliable. Luckily a 2 post lift can double up as an engine hoist

What is the motor still full of fluids?

3 people lifted a 3.0 (with somewhat ease) into the back of a Pathfinder. And I myself lifted it out ( Rest in Peace Oil Pan).

3.5 Lifted it with one other person out of a toyota tacoma. The 3.5 isnt that heavy. but you will need two people atleast 3 and your good.
