Front Brake Caliper Pins
Front Brake Caliper Pins
Hi,
I have been doing a lot of reading on here and thanks to this site and motorvate's site I just finished replacing my front brakes and rotors for my first time. One question I have though..when I removed the brake torque member I noticed that one of the caliper pins was seized. I was able to remove the pin, clean it and lube it up to get it sliding again nicely. However, I notice that both the rubber boots on the two pins had small tears in them. I wasn't able to find a replacement part for them so I just reused the boots. The brakes seem to be working fine but I am wondering if this will cause problems down the road? Also, the two pins were slightly different...one pin had rubber gasket on the bottom and one didn't. I was careful not to remove both at once so I didn't confuse their location but could someone confirm which pin goes where for me just to be sure?
Thanks

If the boots are torn, I would recommend on replacing them. The grease will soon ease out and the pin will seize. I'm not sure if they sell the boots seperately or not, but if I were you, I would take a trip to the dealer to make sure or call Dave B. Good luck!
the part # for the pin with the rubber is 44139-2Y000 Just bought them for my car thay are cheep I think like 7 dollars from internet sites. From now on when I do brakes I will order this part. Also if you are changing your callipers and strip down the bolt that holds the front brake frame the part # is 41005-2Y000. The bolt is like 3 dollars
