Driver Window

I am pretty sure my driver window is on its last legs so I need to replace it. The cheapest I see a new motor for is $190 online. I have also found some places selling rebuilt ones for less than $100. So my question is whether or not it would be worth it to buy a rebuilt one? Anyone have any experience with one? Thanks in advance.

You never really described your problem. Is the window not going up/down at all? If it's just really slow, then you probably need to lubricate your window tracks/jams. I have to do this once or twice a year here in Oklahoma because alot of dust gets in the tracks. Just spray some silcone down the sides of the window, move the window up and down a few time, repeat spraying.

The window is extremely slow to roll up or down and basically gets stuck right in the middle as it is rolling up. The motor sounds worn out like it's about to die whereas none of the other motors make any sound at all while they're operating. The driver window also makes a grinding sound when it gets to the top or bottom like it's going too far. I tried the reset procedure with no luck. I just don't want to take a chance of it dying on me so I figured I'd replace it.

Try lubricating the window track in the mean time. This will help put less strain on the motor. Just get a rebuilt one. They rebuild them back to OE specs. Here's a link to one site. http://replacement.car-stuff.com/par...howdc=true#top

Why do you say that? Most rebuilds are better then the original.
