need help with this issue........

hi folks..
is it safe to wash under the hood with high pressure of water or are there any special treatments such as steaming to clean the dirty engine and around the area? since my engine looks dirty so thought of giving a wash...
what do you say?

I always high pressure wash my engine bay at the local car wash. Use there engine degresser also. I leave the car running while doing this to prevent rough start up. Just try to keep pressure washer away from air box. Never had any problems doing this.

yeah don't worry about it. Just keep the hose at a good distance. Make sure to put a bag over any mods you have in the engine too..mainly intakes. Spray the engine with a solvent first to eat through the grease

dont you think the water can enter the alternator since its very visible or/and can damage o2 sensor, should i cover alternator with something?
