All new Rotors/Pads & Spacers *Pics

Labor day mods. 4 New Brembo Rotors and PBR Deluxe Plus pads. Plus new studs and 15mm H&R spacers for the rear wheels.

Spent all day putting these new goodies on the car.
Rotors were really rusted on. The back two were in worse shape. The pads, however, still had a decent amount on them. The studs were easy enough to hammer out with a metal mallet.
The front 19mm caliper brackets were some tough-@ss ******. One of the hardest bolts I have had to remove yet. They took all my strength and then some. Even sheared off my 1/2" to 3/8" adapter when I tried to throw a breaker bar on them. Wicked suckas.
I used this How-to for the spacer install. Really only need to read it for the stud install part about knocking back part of the rotor shield, everything is pretty straight forward.

Work Area.

Spacer Before & After

Some comparison shots. I've got some more pics if someone wants to see the difference. Just not enough room here to put them all. Might put them out on my homepage later.

After

Yeah that 2nd set of pics help you realise how much better the car looks with the spacers.

Looks great man!

looks good, but you need to put some paint on those calipers, even if it's just some silver or black!

Sweet deal. I have the same wheels, and 5mm spacers in front and 15mm in the rear. Reason I had em was because I have some 17x8 that are +45, and they sat waayy too far inward...

Any reasons why you didn't go with the A34 brakes?

Looks really nice. I like it. By the way how much did those Brembo rotors cost you. I am planning to change my front rotors and pads and I was actually thinking of getting some Brembo's, not the slotted or the drilled ones, but the plain ones like you have.

I did and I have them, but didn't really like the look of them and I think the locks I got with the wheels are pretty common. Why do you ask?

Yes, they do. Pedal feel is much better, less mushy. No more shimmy or fading. Definately liking it so far, the little I have driven it.

You aint never lied! Yeah, I had planned to paint them Aluminum and had all the hardware, just didn't end up having time to do them all. It def needs it. The green dust color they have turned is ick. Takes away from the look of the wheel and rotor.

Wasn't interested in the extra weight. Never really considered it an option.

I got them from the GD forum from Import Car. About $67 per blank for the front and $29 for the rear. Good service from them and fast transaction, product came as described. Would def recommend them.

yeah dude, you should of done the calipers while you were at it. silver or black is nice and clean, you can get them from autozone for like 20 bucks. but yeah im tired of riding in these warped rotors, cheap nissan decided to use cheap breaks, so i gotta spend extra money for it. good job though.

That looks so much better, Eric. Looks like you could have thrown some 20mm on in the rear. How's the handling?

Get what from Autozone? The paint?

Debating whether to sand them down and paint them in place or pull them completly off the brake line. I have seen some people paint them in place, but not sure how they prepped them with the lines still on.

Looks nice. As whaazzup said, you could have even gone with 20mm in the rear. But then you'd probably get more dirt sprayed onto the side of the car when it rains.

yhea the paint.
you dont have to take anything out, because the kit they sell is used with a brush, it comes with the cleaner and paint. if you want to sand it and everything, then yeah you need to take them off. but mine is still good, just a lil dirty.

He asked what size wheels! Not tires, I'm sure Steven88 is inquiring about the wheel width.

Did mine on the car with a brush, lazy I guess, nor prep work masking etc. Added a caliper decal from ebay. Came out just fine:

I was wondering if you got longer wheel studs or if they were the same size. If they're longer, where did you get them? I'll be needing a set soon when I put on my MOMO wheels

The longer wheel studs are provided with the spacers, they come as a complete kit.

A34 rotors are 20 lbs, A33B rotors are 16 lbs. Significant, yes since it's rotating mass.

I guess with the MMEV5s;. any weight added is

Yeah, but they didn't have aluminum. I looked at those kits.

Did you just spray the brake cleaner on the caliper and paint from there?

True, but IMO, they're 1" larger diamter, hence adding more rotational mass.

My MM's weigh in @ 52.5lbs w/tires. My lightweight 17's for track use weigh in @ 37.5lbs w/ tires. Stocks weigh in @ 50 lbs w/tire.

..That's what I did.

Get your decals if you so choose to add some, from xenonmods.com

Also, if you plan on adding decals, dont get VHT paint, seems as if it's teflon based, and resistant to decals adhesive, went through 2 sets before I snapped

I do have the VHT Aluminum I was going to use, hadn't planned on decals. So you spray painted the caliper and/or bracket in place? You mask off, if so?

Thanks. I like them, they were very sticky. They are losing tread and since the header install, stickiness isn't so good, more spinning. I am mildly looking for some new tread soon.

Looks good, and glad to hear it stops better. I ordered Slotted rotors, Axxis Pads, SS lines, and fluid, just havent installed them yet. Your thread reminded me that I might as well get the spacers in the back, so I ordered those yesterday and am gonna do it all in one swoop. Nice car btw.

Looks good. The offset makes a big difference. I think people on the .org forget about offset and think only diameter maters.
