hey guys, im getting a problem where when i accelerate sometimes i get a strange rattling noise coming from somewhere in the engine bay. It usually starts rattling after lightly accelerating from a 15-20mph roll. When i recently took it to the dealer the receipt said under the future maintenance section that the timing belt needs to be replaced. From what i read before our cars have a timing chain. So does chain usually need to be replaced.
i have a 00 with about 70k on it.
And im also experiencing power loss and a very hard jerk into 2nd gear under medium-hard acceleration...is there a way i can find out definately that its my MAF or should i just buy a new one and hope it gets better.

I'm guessing it's your timing chain tensioner. These should get you started.

Looks like Nissan screwed with the design and 'updated' it

And you're correct, we have timing chains and not belts.
