This is regarding brake bleeding...I notice that two of those little rubber dust covers, that go on top of the bleeder screw, are missing...will I be okay without them? If not, does anybody know where I can get a cheap replacement? I looked up on Nissan FAST, and they require you to buy the full kit

i'd cover them up even with rain and dirt splashing up dont wanna clog them up... autozone only sells the kits too but much cheaper go to a junkyard those are prolly the last thing ppl look at on a wrecked car

well, does anybody know what i can use for a ghetto replacement? upon further examination, they look to be rubber...and nothing else...you think i can wrap the bleeder screw with something? like tape...lol

give me some ideas! I'm going to bleed my brakes this weekend!

 

lots of cars come w/o that rubber thing on the bleeder, so ud say u dont really need them. i like to keep mine coverd to keed dirt out, u defenatly dont want dirt in ur fluid, but it cant really get in unless u loosen the screw.

I just had my front pads and rotors replaced at an independent shop. He used ceramic pads and rotors from NAPA. I do trust them but still I was shocked at the total bill of $400. About two hours of labor (which included his trip to NAPA!) and rest in the parts and other misc stuff. Rotors were $90/each. The pads were 50% off, so they were like $45. So the parts alone were over $220. To remove the old rotor, he used BFH(ammer).
Incidentally, I did notice that the rear nipple (that is the technical term :-) had no rubber cap either.
