what parts of the engine would need to be reinforced to run a high psi turbo?....which part of the engine does the turbo put the most stress on?
thanks for all the help thus far on my questions

depends what you consider high boost. Id say pistons and rods first, but since your in there, might as well do more stuff. head gasket isnt really needed unless you go crazy but its better to be safe then sorry when it comes to the head gasket. I think youll need an ECU to retard timing, Detonation is no good.

someone just making a turbo isnt good enough....

even if someone does perfect a turbo...we're still gonne be stuck at low boost...either way the only path i see is engine rebuilding...only way to get REAL speed..obviously im part of the performance group..hehe..who else on this forum is about performance b4 anything else?

im about performance first. Whats your point? a good tuned low boost system can still give you good speed. We turboed a Integra with B16A motor awhile ago and only ran 8 pounds but ran mid 12's easily. Why? we did a good setup and it was tuned really good. What is considered REAL speed to you? To me, Speed is more then juss about going fast in a straight line.

humm interesting....that had NOTHING to do with turbo but thats ok Daniel...hahah

I think everyone juss wants twinturbo because it sounds good, so basically its juss a showoff thing. I dont see a benifit from twinturboing the Max. Juss keep it a single turbo and its plenty good enough already.

twin turbo is overrated

twin turbo jst sounds cooler than turbo....i think that about it....and i want to be able to overboost..as for the straight line performance....i dont plan to take my car to the track....most of my racing is gonna be done on the street, and thats generally straight line performance..1/4 mile...a turbo integra ran 12s?.....i always thought it would only come in around 13s.....so roughly how much boost could i run on a 5th gen without endangering the motor?...and would it be better than the supercharger or the same?....i need street performance on street tires, not on slicks, so even with a turbo if i can run 13s at the track on slicks it'll be slower on reg tires...i want to make it so i can run 12s or 13s on the street.

Well, everyone wants to run 12's. Face it, we won't run in the 12's unless we have a really good boost and really good tuning.

i'm assuming acceleration the sc will be faster since you get the extra power right off the line. then the turbo kicks in. matthel usually says 8lbs would be safe to run. well as far as a twin turbo set up.. the only benifits i see (if it's sequential) is you get one that spools up earlier for low-mid range then the second turbo kicks in and you get high end. but if it's gonna be like teh Z i've never seen a single turbo conversion on that.. it's just too much of a hassle i guess. as far as the integra.. it's not uncommon to run 12's as long as u don't boost a vtec one.. i heard the don't respond too well to turbos.. LS motors are not bad to add boost with. anyways an alternative for the sequential (twin turbo) set up, theres' this new thing garret is developing. it may be on the markets already. it's an electric motor that is hooked up to the turbo that spins it in the beginning instead of the exhaust gas. it eleminates turbo lag. after the turbo spools up from the exhaust gasses, the motor gets shuts off by a relay (there's gotta be a sensor in there somewhere) and it becomes a lil power generator.. pretty cool. someone's posted it before i think.. it looks funky. either or. i want one
