Weird rev issue

when i rev my engine in park or n at about 2000 rpms the rpms bounce up and down between 1500 and 2000. i think i might have a bad MAF my car hasnt been running up to par lately and it seems like a bad MAF but the rev thing has been happening since i bought it. i bought it with 76000 and now it has 92000. im stumped. any help would be great. thanks

yea, most likely it's MAF, but check your to see if you have intake/vacuum leaks. minor leaks could cause bad idle, though i think it'd usually drop and not raise. but always good to check anyway

it seems more like an electric prob the way it bounces up and down 1 second up 1 sec down 1 sec up 1 second down and so on. i guess ill buy a MAF and see what happens. i wanna do plugs and coils anyway also. i like to replace that stuff shortly after i buy a car so i know exactly where i stand on maint.
