Good ole' brake fluid

What do you all recommend for a good brake fluid, what brand that is? Or is the Nissan OEM type as good as any. Thanks much!

There is only one brake fluid that owns > all the rest

If you can't read the pic, it's called "ATE Super Blue" it's nice, because it comes in blue and gold colors, so when you do a flush, you always know when the old stuff is out and new stuff is through the lines (assuming you alternate colors)

That, and it's simply the best fluid out there.....might I mention that Porsches come with it from the factory...it's that good.

you can get it for the best price here:
http://www.ogracing.com/eshop/itemde...12&showbrake=1

or, if you prefer the gold variant:

hm... I might as well try it, if it's only $10. For some reason I thought it was like $25+

+1 for ATE Super Blue. Went thru Jason (AuToMaX_95) in the group buy section. Great customer service and competitive pricing. I think I paid around 15-17 shipped per container. I'd gladly pay an extra $1 or $2 for his customer service.

that's cool too. the link I provided (OG Racing) is a local company to me. All of the guys who run it know everything about cars....they all compete in drag, autocross, road racing, rallycross, etc....hardcore motorsports guys with great prices and service.

I love going out to their shop....lots of cool racing gear

because Blue is teh hotness!

There are a number of technical discussions of brake fluid in the "fluids and lubricants" section that get into quite a bit of detail about boiling points, water absorption, etc....I would go in there and read some of them, they'll be more informative than anything posted here.

if you have to get it over the counter, then valvoline is another good choice...it's cheap, readily available at all autozones, and their boiling points are amongst the highest in it's class

no...I'm assuming you mean manual transmission fluid....you can't use brake fluid for that.

The best fluid for the manual transmission is Redline MT-90. You can buy it from the same place I posted above.....

he's asking about clutch fluid...not manual transmission fluid...

decoy036spd, yes you may use ATE or any other dot 3/dot 4 brake fluid as your clutch fluid

Is a litre of that stuff enough to flush the whole system? I was going to stick w/ just the stock fluid, but of course, my dealer being my dealer, they carry $--- and they know $---. Yeah, the parts people tell me they don't carry brake fluid by the bottle, all they have is the bulk stuff.

Is flushing the system every year too extreme? I thought maybe every 2 years, would that work, be ok that is?

Just to let you guys know, the new ATE Super blue is in a different bottle now.
We have 150 of them in stock =)

The ATE type200 is the same exact thing except the color difference =0

On a side note, how do you go about flushing your clutch? I actually bought 1 bottle of ATE super blue, then bought 2 more from Jason because I was scared I'd run out during the bleeding. Funny thing is, I didn't even finish the first bottle. So I might as well do my clutch too.
